I never though about clear coating them. That should make them easier to clean and give an extra layer of protection. Good idea

Re: painting brake calipers

You know I have been thinking about giving my 98 GTP a make over. Its the same color red as Big-L's and I was thinking about a Black Cherry base with yellow cals. emblem, etc. what do you think cass good combo? or do you have a better color combo that I should consider? I am not dead set as of yet I just want a color that stands out above the rest you know.
Plus cops seem to really watch me now not that I speed or anything.

Re: painting brake calipers

GTP,
By make over, you mean turn it into a GTX? It's the title you need. There are hard to find, or have someone give them up. I'm shocked at the number of people who own GPs that say, "I never knew Pontiac make those". Then you get into the story of SLP, and the small differances.

I think that color combo would be great! There is a web site out there where you can superimpose your color combos on your car. I'll have to check with my son to see if he still has the url.

it appears that those GTX spoilers would actually hurt gas milleage because of how it catches more air than a standard spoiler.

I know, off topic, but I just though it was ironic

Re: painting brake calipers

No kid I just mean new paint (Mines alittle faded and tired of the bright red) New gtp emblems on the side, new rims and tires, tint the windows, ETC...

What exactly is the difference between the GTP and GTX? Is the X faster? More HP? I really like my GTP it is fast and the power is great. With a few good mods I think I can get it up to be at least close to The GTO.

Re: painting brake calipers

Just hood, spoiler, ram air box, pulley, tires and rims.
The GTX is faster, but not by all that much.
And as everyone knows, I bad mouth the new GTO because I think they could have done some more. BUT, the car is fast. But if I could jam a 8 cy. into my GTX (with rear wheel drive). I think I could blow one away. Now does anyone out there have $20,000.00 so I can build it?
