Re: 14 sec car

An LSD and grippy tires is where I'd start.

Re: 14 sec car

i currently have the tires that came w/ my rims, kumho something, they would grip really well when they were new but im going through them pretty fast. what are the best all around tires, w/ a lot of grip and will last longer than 6 months. they are 17s if that makes a difference.

Re: 14 sec car

Cam work...getting a more aggresive cam, I think stage 2 is the best for a dual purpose car, could be wrong though. Adjustable cam gears can help as well. As far as tires, I guess it's all personal preferance, as long as they're z-rated.

Now try that kind of a time with the 420A or the NT 4g63 from a Galant. Also, can we see a timeslip?

Anyhow cams are essentially worthless. Longer duration cams trade off low end torque for high end power... which sucks alot. If you have the patience to wait until near redline for your engine to completely be at its peak and have virtually no acceleration at the bottom end RPMs, go for it. Until cams become your performance cap it's unneccessary to change them.

Re: 14 sec car

Well I'm glad you cleared that up lurker, I thought I had read stage 2 was good, but wasn't sure. Good to know though, cause I'll probably want to get a cam in the near future.

Re: 14 sec car

He, already has a vafc, and he said cheapest way, stroker kits are not easy or cheap. I say get stickier tires and a short shifter.

Pulled the words right from my mouth. Pulleys are not worth it.
