Re: performance headers

Ceramic is supposed to hold the heat in better. Which is supposed to give you more power... Definitely go for a 4-2-1 tho. 4-1 kill lower end torque. Another thing I read in a engine magazine the other day is that the length of the first 4 pipes determines where the peak of your powerband is. Longer the first section of piping, the higher rpm you will peak at. Shorter makes lower rpm.

Re: performance headers

Bisimoto is the best you can get. AN-R has a bisimoto knock off that looks really good too. Gonna cost you $500 and on up depending on which you get though.

Re: performance headers

SMSP. I heard nothing but good things about it. I've seen the dyno sheets from this guy who has the 00 yellow itr and got 18 whp at this place in chicago called garage kwai.

Re: performance headers

For the price that Bisi costs I think it's the best in that rang, as far as those comptech,SMSP,hytech,AN-R headers goes there are all over 1300$

Re: performance headers

omg...i'd never spend that much for headers!! That money could be put into rods and pistons, or a turbo kit or something that would get u higher gains

but i guess the high end headersare for those who've already done everything else and are rich and starving for power

I don't see what the big deal is with the header, I mean they are a piece of metal tubing, if it crack you just weld them up and put it back on, no big deal. Tho ceramic is a different story. So if the cheap ones come in the same setup 4-2-1, why not just reinforce the welds and have the same exact product as the dc/greddy headers for cheaper?
We're talking .000032hp difference here in the header, so I can't see justifying a $500+ header unless you are going totally on aesthetics.

Bisimoto header made something like 9whp on a STOCK d16z6. Imagine what it would do on a high compression modified motor. For the 500 price tag...I dont know what smsp sells for but I would argue the best bang for your buck is the bisimoto header. It looks badass too.
