The cheap Fram filters have a bad reputation. The best ones are as good as any. I like Purolator Pure1 - probably similar to the best Fram.

Use the Mobil 1 if you can justify it. Change it half as often as you change your dino oil.

So the mobil 1 can get me 6000 miles. But why it is more expensive than the 7500 miles syn blend? Is it a good idea to determine when I should change oil by checking the oil color?

No, color is misleading - no real information on its lubricating quality. If you want to determine when your oil really needs changing, send a sample for an oil analysis.

Color is an indication but not very reliable. I always replace @3000 miles, using dino oil.

Color is an indication of nothing, other than how much carbon and wear metals are dispersed in the oil. There is very little change in color due to oxidation or depletion of anti-wear additives. Depending on the state of your engine, that could mean it was added to the engine 100 or 10000 miles ago.
