Re: What's the worst your car has ever suffered?

I rear ended a van with my '82 Toyota, the accident forced the radiator back into the take off pully for the AC, shredding a giant hole in it, the accident actually caused practically no damage to the appearance of the front end, other than causing the fenders to bow outwards giving the car an instant and free widebody makeover. I didn't even break a headlight in the collision or screw up the alighment at all. The front endwas yanked outward by wrapping a chain around the lower crossmember that the radiator attached to, and attaching one end of that chain to a pick up truck going 10mph. After that, a new radiator was put in and the car was back on the road.

Re: What's the worst your car has ever suffered?

i think Rbraczyk wins.

Lets see..worst things done to my car(s)

Thunderbird: Rolling into a bean field, getting stuck in mud, and getting beans in my exhaust

Camaro: Accidently backing over my bicycle. Got my peg stuck in the bumper, and ripped the rock/dirt/water shield off from the inner fender

Dodge Ram Van: Going down Pikes Peak. Inertia, Gravity, 5000lbs and horrible brakes dont mix.

Mazda Tribute: Hitting it with a hammer belt hook putting a fist sixe 1" deep dent in the door.

Gas station attendant filled my tank with Special instead of Super Premium...Oh, and I dropped a fry from Burger King- can't find it.

68 chevelle,

That reminds me. An almost-full giant bag of those tiny multicoloured sweets went flying all over my interior. Took me almost an hour to get all the shit from under my seats

Re: What's the worst your car has ever suffered?

My current ride: I scraped the right 3/4 Panel against a concrete pillar. Did all the Panel repair myself and then sent it off to be painted at mates rates.

Other wise, you wouldn't believe all the shit I've put so many of my previous rides through.......

They include:

-Crashing my Mazda 323 into a tree when I was 16
-Reversing my Renault through a fence and into a flower garden (No damage to the car, but my face was rather red)
-Having some idjit boy racers lose control of thier CRX and hit the rear of my Falcon XR8
-Had my first 156 hit by a truck when a Fedex van didn't let me change lanes.

Hit head on by a Town Car taxi at a curve. Jerk going 50 in a 30 zone trying to beat the light. My poor Mazda Protege.

Insurance said it was totaled and won't be worth repairing. Then got the Santa Fe and everybody and their mother keeps hitting me. Too many hit pics to post.

TS out

My own car: None

Other cars my family had:

Oldsmobile Firenza: Got T-Boned (totalled) Would have been worse if my brother was in the right rear passenger seat (where it got hit)

Pontiac Sunbird: Rainy night (hate those times) My mom was driving, couldn't see the curb (just lost the hubcap)

Toyota Cressida: The brake shoes literally fell from the car. I had to drive slow all the way to my house

Not my car but what I did:
Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder: slid on wet pavement while on a curve, knocked the curb out. Bad right side suspension damage

Doing 80 mph, hit the brakes and they locked up, ran off the road, hit about 10 trees.

in my old Pontiac Tempest (aka re-badged Chevy Corsica), i slid on some gravel and hit a 7-inch high curb, completely sideways, at about 80km/h.

the front left wheel hit first.

Damage:

-shock was moved in 3 inches.
-a-arm almost folded in half
-snapped ball joint
-bent front corner of frame
-blew CV-shaft.
-the wheel that hit was only a steelie, but the lip of the wheel at the very point of impact was almost completely folded back on itself.
-i also think i shatter one of my drive gears in my tranny, or broke something. the car wouldn't move under it's own power after the accident. it would start, but if you pressed the gas, it would just rev and make this terrible grinding noise and not move.

the car was only worth like $100. rusty as shit and a piece of crap, so we didn't even bother trying to fix it.

the damage. note wheel sitting about 4 inches farther back then it should be, and whole car "leaning" towards the front left.

the mangled a-arm. note that a-arm on opposite side is not even visible. this one hangs down a good 4 inches because it was bent so badly. also notice grease all over frame from CV shaft exploding.

the wheel. note lip almost bent back on itself.

oh, and yes. the car is painted entirely flat black.

Re: What's the worst your car has ever suffered?

1997 Dodge Neon - 2 wrecks, blew 2 motors, 2nd motor was myriad of problems, electrical sucked, and it also served as a hearse when my Doberman/Lab mix died at home and I needed to take her body to the emergency clinic.
