another thing about the timing? i was talking to a friend of mine about it and he was saying that retarding it would give better performance. which is better? advance or retard? i understand i might not be able to do it to my truck now but for future hook ups.

Don't take advice from that friend again because he doesn't know what he is talking about.

Why are you even worrying, you can't change it on yours anyways.
