because ours are shiny looks cool and look clean
i was at a hobby expo in brisbane Australia and even notice the difference between afv,aircraft modellers about each other.
I did enjoy building a tank but it showed me how much i missed automotive modelling.thr only good thing about tanks is if you make a mistake with a paint spot you can fix it with a sand bag or something
