Walking Forward Looking Back

Have you ever walked forward,
Looking back to see from where you have come?
Have you noticed how the uphills slide down,
And the downhills rise up?
How the familiar curving path recedes,
Twisting in the opposite direction,
A mirror image.
How, sometimes, the wind is at your back,
And fallen leaves dance circles round your feet.
Have you forgotten the hurdles you crossed?
How the point of departure can rarely be seen,
Only fondly remembered
With compassion born
Of distance navigated.
Have you ever walked forward,
Looking back to see from where you have come?
And noticed with amazement
That you had not realized
How far you had gone,
How much ground had been covered,
Until you turned to look behind.
And, now, do you see where you are going --
and why?

It's shit, but its what i have.....

Maybe we should put the Department of Agriculture in charge of immigration.

Actually it is kinda a legit scam... see they get 1000's of people to write crappy poems then publish them in a book. Now it doesn't cost you anything to do it and it doesn't cost them a whole lot to publish them, but guess what I bet about 3/4 of the people will now rush out and buy the book that their poem got published in for 30- 40 bucks a pop, oh and don't forget copies for your parents and grandparents and etc. My sister did it and got the same notice you did from a different company, my girlfriend did it years ago, and my girlfriends grandmother did it god only know how many centuries ago (good thing she doesn't know what a computer is or I would be in trouble for that little dig).

bottom line is it has been around for a long time, and while you really aren't getting scam scammed, it is still a money making scam set up by whatever company is publishing the poems. I mean come on someone who never really figures on having any writing talent all of a sudden is a published poet? wouldn't you want to go buy the book to show everyone?

yeah its not really a scam per say, I mean they are putting your poem in a book that will be for sale and they will send you a copy for a fee. but like I said its not like they are paying you for your work, they are slapping in a book then selling the book (your own work) back to you. they will make a considerable amount off of the book sales just to the people who contributed poems alone.
