AGREED
one of my friends (girl) just got into a pretty bad accident just because she dropped a cd and decided it would be wise NOT to make her friend in the passenger seat look for it and actually take her eyes off the road to look for it herself. The girl rear ended somone going around 40mph which wound up causing extensive damage to her car, no kidding right?

Re: Unfair, but whatever...

Hehe, I still remember when I was trying to teach my sister to drive before she got her permit...we were driving around the neighborhood at about 15 mph, and the car starts drifting to the left and there's a brick wall there...I tell her kinda harshly "Turn the wheel to the right" and she turns it more to the left, then she starts panicing and takes her hands off the wheel, so I yell "Stop!" and she slams it into Park while its moving at about 10 mph...oh man, I was pissed...some women should just not be allowed to drive

I agree. I can't stand being behind a large vehicle, but I rather be behind a minivan that is cruising than an Sti that will not get out of my way

Sorry man, but the way I read your story:
*ladies tailgating
*lady finally gets a clue and moves into the passing lane so she can drive at a rate of speed she prefers
*she attempts to make the pass
*you punish her by getiing in front of her .... ironically putting her on your ass where you complained about her in the first place?!
(really, if someone is tailgating me, I am grateful for when they finally pass).
*she tailgates again (probably because you pissed her off now) so now you punish her again with a brake check

How about this version:
*ladies tailgating
*lady finally gets a clue and moves into the passing lane so she can drive at a rate of speed she prefers
*light turns green lady completes pass and goes on with her day
*you go on with your day

Sorry if I am missing something, but I am only going by the words you put down.
If I was there, I would have been pissed that she was tailgating, but relived when she passed.
If I were her I would have been furious with you.

Why do people like you only find the throttle when someone behind you finally gets out to pass?

Re: Unfair, but whatever...

There were a couple of girls that I went to school with that got in a wreck the first day they got thier licenses'. Minivans that tailgate are annoying, but the easiest fix is to floor it and leave them(as long as you don't have to do anything stupid to do so). Most of the time when someone tailgates, I decide it is time for lunch and pull over at the next stop.

Re: Unfair, but whatever...

all these stories that you've all posted. sounds EXACTLY like arizona drivers. I have experience with all these stories and types of drivers. And i do what pearlGT did in his story. Pull up next to a truck, Semi's are the best and stay even just to piss them off. Then when they flash i their headlights at me, i show them my hazards and laugh my ass off.

Re: Unfair, but whatever...

To clarify one more thing I posted earlier, the brake check occurred AFTER I put the directional on to turn into the gas station. I also didn't use the full braking capabilities of the car, just slowed down about 5 MPH more than I normally would.

If ANY ONE of the following had not been the case, JekylandHydes's idealized version is what would have happened, and in fact has happened several other times at the same spot:
1. She had been following me a reasonable distance (1-2 car lengths) previously
2. She would have used the ample opportunity earlier to pass
3. My final destination was more then 1/4 mile after the last stop light
4. There was not a line of 15+ cars ahead that was travelling slower than I had been.
5. She had been driving a vehicle I could see around.
6. The "Right Lane Ends" sign was not visible from the intersection.
7. I had been travelling slower than 40 MPH in the 35 MPH zone where I was being tailgated.
8. Traffic had not permitted her to pass earlier.

Basically, if someone goes out of their way to be a PITA to me, I'm going to go out of my way to make sure it backfires.

hey not to flame you but........................if someone pisses me off, paybacks a bitch. you have a good argument however when a person decides it's their right to tailgate people i just lose my temper and i stop caring about their feelings. therefore i disagree. i would've done everything he did, if not more.

That was unwise. Let him go by and if you have a cell phone, call 911 and report him. Don't take the mantle of traffic enforcement.

Re: Unfair, but whatever...

you know, for the most part i agree on women driving, however my girl jennifer can drive her tiburon. no wrecks ever, not even a ticket. The girl's all responcible behind the wheel... She doesn't race (anymore since i beat her heh) but even when she did , she did it at the track and not on the streets... so when i tell her no women should drive (when a stupid b*tch in a surburban or excursion or heaven forbid a damn explorer cuts me off or does something so blantly stupid it makes me mad, i have to go "well, you don't count..."
