Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

So because seeing death doesn't bother me, I'm automatically immature?

Riiiight kid. Maybe it would occur to you that it just doesnt bother me? Maybe you're not mature enough to realize it's just another part of life.

Damn, that sux man, it sounds like you did more than most of the other people that were there though. Live's a bitch. so then say the closest person to you in life was brutaly murdered, in the worst way possible you are saying you would feel nothing. it wouldnt bother you in the slightest. you would just walk up to the murderer and be like meh it doesnt bother me at all. oh well you killed him/her its just part of life no worries.

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

Holy crap, son. You're obviously getting the wrong idea.

I said death didnt bother me. Watching someone die, does not irk me in the least bit.

Losing someone I love, is a different matter. Stupid punk kid, get your facts straight before you start assuming dumb crap like that.

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

The argument above this post will not continue openly or there will be serious repercussions. An innocent person dieing is a time to show a bit of respect - even if that is how you do feel on the matter, keep it to yourself. We don't want to know/hear that.

As for the incident at hand, it seems absolutely tragic and senseless. And worst of all, completely unneccesary and avoidable.

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

For the driver of the truck- if he dies (I didn't read it thoroughly)- He's simply cleansing the gene pool.

He did the dumbest thing possible- drove well in excess of Urban speed limits with unbelted occupants and driving like a cock. For the girl it's a genuinely sad story and it's awful to hear It should have been the driver, not her.

Then there'd the fact that you've gotta endure the image, not going to be an easy time, sorry to hear it all

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

I'd probablly be one of those people who stays in there car out of shock. I wouldn't know what to do. Like the other guy said, Kudos to you for at least trying to save her life. And I agree with the other guy that is should have been the driver for being impateint and driving fast to have been killed not her.

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

There's not much good that comes from something like that. You suffer, her parents suffer, the guy driving the truck suffers (although I don't really feel that bad for him,he fucked up now he get's to live with it).
Sucks all around.
I had a somewhat similar experience a few years ago where there was absolutely nothing I could do.

I was driving a five ton truck and was following an Irving Oil tanker truck fairly closely as it is a steep hill and you need all of the speed you can to get up the other side.
This car coming from the other direction started coming across the yellow line towards us.
Buddy in the tanker was hard on the brakes and the air horn as was I.
It was like slow motion as the tanker hit this car head on literally right in front of us, and then headed for the ditch while on top of this car ( talking to the driver of the truck later he said he couldn't figure out why the truck wouldn't steer).
They hit the ditch and the car stopped but the truck did not.
I came within inches of piling right in as well.
I stopped and jumped out and well..it's something that will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Here's the thing that sticks in my mind.
The car, it was a Buick Skylark, the only thing left on it was the four tires, the floor, and the passenger door. The rest was just gone.
There was no engine, no roof, no trunk no nothing.
The wierd thing was that the glass was still in the door that was left. It was just sitting there still attached somehow, looking all shiny and new while the rest of the car was totally missing.

It was later learned that this girl had been working the night shift and they figured she fell asleep.

I have to drive right past this spot every day on my way to work and I always look and remember what happened that day.

There's nothing that anyone could say to me to make me feel better and I don't think that there is anything that I can say to you either.
I only hope that by sharing this with you that it somehow lessens that pain.

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

^ I also have to drive through the intersection everyday. I follow the same path as the S-10, but insted of doing my usual 5-10 over the limit I actually was 5 below the limit. There still is blood and broken glass all over the road. There is a little memorial set up on the curb beside the intersection, from the amount of flowers there at 6:30 this morning, this girl was well know and well liked. I think Ill go and leave some flowers there myself. According to the radio " Following last nights fatal crash on the south side, one unidentified male remains in a coma in the critical care unit and has yet to show any signs of improvemnt. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor. Drivers are asked to use extream caution at the intersection, as it is believed many people will be gathering to pay their respect throughout the week." The radio then went on to discuss the effect of seatbelts and responsable driving. Their was an abundance of calls to the station of people showing their support.

Re: I saw a 16 year old girl die (long)

ugh that is so upsetting i really is. It brings chills to me. To see someone so young die because of something ssooo stupid and preventable. A fucking seatbelt!!! HOW HARD IS IT?!?! REALLY?! IS IT THAT HARD?!
im so glad they are finally cracking down on the seatbelt laws. . .
