Did you follow the instructions?

When you installed the FIPK did you by chance disconnect the battery while you installed the new intake? Not only does this prevent any stray voltage from burning out the sensors but after being disconnected for 10-15 minutes it will reset your onboard computer. The computer stores the sensor information for the last 10 crank and runs. If you did not reset the computer and installed the FIPK you would more than likely get a check engine light... the computer would sense a change in readings greater than 10% and pop the light. Since the onboard computer manages essential engine settings (timing, air flow, and fuel mixture settings) based on the average collected data it would take at least ten instances to build the new data tables. That would explain why your check engine light is now out although you haven't yet seen any appreciable performance increase. I would reset the computer (disconnect the battery) and see what you have... quick and easy way to eliminate any erroneous data and codes. If you really have a bad sensor it WILL come back.

Re: Installed FIPK... Service Engin Soon Light???

but since the intake has been on their for slmost a week now....would reseting the computer still work? On the directions when it said to disconnect the battery I thought it was just for saftey purposes. That goes to show you....always follow directions. Hopefully this will solve my problem. The engin light has been out now for 3 days but im still not getting that much low end accelleration.
