With a sealed box on the other hand, you tend to get a ~12dB/oct drop in response after the F3, and when you stick it in a car you get a ~12dB/oct cabin gain starting at about the same frequency, and you end up with a flatter in-car response normally.

As for fatmat, yes I have the 100sqft pack in my car, and if my recommending something else says anything, it's that I've learned from my mistakes.
yea it says for sealed - 1.25 to 2.5cf and for vented - 2.0 to 3.5cf. and from reading all around this forum, you and haibane and some others really know your stuff. i really love your set-up, and when you get the brahma too, its gonna be amazing. how much did that all cost? your cadence is a beast (little expensive for me). i havent heard from linear power too often, do you like it? do you have any pics of your set-up anywhere?

thanks for all the help

Re: brahma the best?

Yeah there are some pretty knowledgable people here, and you can find several of us over on other forums as well. For just audio forums, I'm on here, icixsound, caraudioforum, elitecaraudio, and soundillusions. I know Haibane is on icix, I'm not sure but he may be on some others also.

As for my setup, thank's for the comments. Total cost just this summer has been a little over $2300, then you add in the deadening and the wiring that I already had and it's a little over $2500 total. Not too bad I'd say, but I'm very lucky to have the summer job that I have. I love the linear power, it has so much power it's ridiculous, comes with a 6 year warranty, and it has the highest quality construction that I've ever seen in a car amp. No noise, static, thumps, or other problems you tend to see from time to time (I would hope it wouldn't, I didn't pay $400 for another US Acoustics, haha). If you don't mind having a $400 no-name amp that looks like flea market crap to all your friends and has no built in filters or bass boosts, but is one of the highest quality amps you can find out there and also happens to put out a solid 250x2 @ 2-4ohm, then I highly recommend it.

As for pics, here's the thread that I started on it earlier this summer:

Re: brahma the best?

I'm in the middle of redoing mine. I had a brahma 12 on order but im changing to an xxx 12 and a brutus bx1500d. As for front stage I think I'm going to try out the new re compnent set I've heard great things and use a tsunami amp to power them. Also check out the forums on www.visionaryaudio.com they have a lot of good info on adire and re and people from both companies post there.....For the brahma order it soon because you'll wait a very long time.

I read up on a lot of threads on all those other forums, and this is one of the only ones without all those corporate types constantly plugging their wares. I mean if they are here, big ups for all the unbiased opinions...

Re: brahma the best?

Go to the adireaudio home page and click on the brahma 15, then download the ownser manual. It tells you how much power you need for the specific box you build and tuned to whatever htz you want. The 10" brahma in a small sealed box has a 7000 watt capability

Re: brahma the best?

they just give the true specs on their subs to be honest, instead of overestimating like just about every other company out there to try to protect themselves from warranty issues. They tell you how it is, and trust that you'll be grown up enough to treat the equipment right on your own. The only thing that number is telling you, is that the sub will take 7000 watts to hit full excursion in that size box at that frequency, it says nothing about whether the sub will actually be able to handle that much power thermally.
