Re: Newbie car dilemma
FF to FR? Geeeezus... just buy a freaking 240sx or an AE86 or something cheap! Tiburon? Ugh...! As for a new car... there are not any FR's that are cheap (not sure on your budget) and why would you wanna bang up a perfectly new car trying to learn how to drift...? Buy a beater.... then you can graduate to whatever brand spanking new car your parents can afford to buy (you snot nosed brat! JK! LoL).
PS-FORD SUCKS!!!!!!

Re: Newbie car dilemma
Even if my parents are the ones who buy it, I am still the one paying off the 0% finance. So in other words, I'm buying the car. It's just the dealership would probably increase the price if I bought it.
and I did say that if there was no other choice, I would just buy a 240sx (if I can find one anyways). Seems to me repairing/upgrading a 240sx is cheaper then buying a new car altogether. |

Re: Newbie car dilemma
i cant read any of this without shaking my head. for one thing, please dont talk about "switching" drive types (like ur FF to FR or AWD), this isnt lego... u cant just click and "switch" it doesnt work that way. and no, gran turismo is NOT tuning experience.
some people may disagree with me, but a tiburon is not a respectable sports car, nothing from korea is. you are obviously a sport compact/import guy... why do your parents want you to get a new car? tell them this, the moment a car is driven 1 mile and is no longer new, it depreciates heavily, depending on car i would say 10-25%... which means u wont be seeing much of your money back... i dont actually have a suggestion for what you should buy, i dont live in america and am not completely informed about what cars u have and dont have.... i know a lot but not all. but i will say this... u may be an import/ sport compact fan ( i am 2), but with little money and those conditions by your parents, the best way for you to get a car you can tune and learn to drive better in would definately be a cheap RWD domestic. trust me, you are 15, you will sell it when your 18 and get whatever you want and that will be a mad ride but for now with ur budget and ur parents willing to support you only if you buy a new car, the only decent thing you could get would be domestic. think about it. |

Re: Newbie car dilemma
actually I am 18 now and I live in Canada, but thanks for the tip. Canada has a couple less car models then the States. As for domestic, I'm not really too sure about them. I've never actually looked any up, but my driving school did give me a 5k cheque which can be cashed if I buy a Ford car.
I think to my best interest, decling my parents offer would be the best solution. Since nothing new comes cheap anyways. |
