Re: Roots style blower on a viper and c5

BTW, willimo, that pic, the intake manifold looks like it could be compatible with a 5.0....

No turbo lag? Linear power curve? Couldn't tell ya.

Ya'll cut it out. I like both ya'll's threads and I don't want bickering to cause any trouble with the mods.

one last thing before i sign out:

How am i acting like a "loser?" Please explain that to me, Leroy. I openly addmitted to being wrong. So, why am I a loser? Although, I must admit, being called a 'loser' over the internet is pretty damn funny.

Not quite. Where is the forced induction?

And the Vette:

Be glad you didn't see all the pics of the Corvette, as they guy just cut a hole in the hood to clear the supercharger - not even a pretty hole. It looks awful. But the supercharger is so pretty - I love how the belt drives a pully that runs to a shaft at the back of the supercharger. Clever and pretty. Makes me want to fab one up for kicks.

Isn't it funny how two people can ruin someone else's thread with childish bickering?

Anyways, the main issue with roots-type blowers on these cars is hood clearance. As with those pics above, if the owner cut a hole in the hood, it's because there wasn't enough room. With enough money, anything is possible of course, like a custom hood or really trick low-profile blower and accessories.

In scale, the sky is the limit, of course. You don't have to worry about how it runs, only how it looks. There are several kits that have roots-type blowers in them, but centrifugal ones are few and far between. Scratchbuilding one would be neat, because it would be different.

Damn, that vette is from Montreal! Gonna have to keep an eye peeled for that...

A custom hood is far from what I would call "almost impossible." This is the internet, everyone has an opinion, and they want to share it no matter how "knowledgeable" the are. If I have an opinion that I am not 100% sure is correct, I refrain from sharing. And on the occasion I do share those half truths, I am sure to qualify them by adding a disclaimer and asking for correction or clarification. Further, I absolutely refuse to stand for misinformation. If I see it, I have to correct it. Maybe it's the teacher in me. Maybe it's the nosey Nelly. Maybe it's just the intrinsic ass that lies dormant in willimo. Who knows. But sorry, I won't let it stand.

Re: Roots style blower on a viper and c5

i just thought i would add to this
here is my 6-71 roots blower

and here is the manifold

this set up would not be the greatest for a new
vette or viper
but this is one big bad roots type blower
