On most cars, there are areound two gallons left when the fuel light comes on. On a G20, you should have around 50 miles left when the light comes on (@ 25 mpg). It's not hard for a Fuel Injected car to restart after running out of fuel; It'll just take some extra cranking. It's not good for the fuel system if you do this. One time won't hurt though. Fuel pumps in fuel injected cars are electronic. The fuel pump is usually located in the gas tank. I don't know of any fuel injected cars with belt driven fuel pumps. |

Yeah, our fuel pump is located right behind the center of the rear seat, sorta between the cabin and the trunk. They are a pain in the ass to get in and out of the car mainly do to placement and working conditions (usually they go out at bad times). I helped replace one on a early model SE-R in the middle of winter in a walmart parking lot.
It was like 10:00 at night when we started, probably 35-40 degrees outside, and all we had for lighting was a flashlight... at least it was a maglight... Oh yeah, I've heard with SE-R's that if you get below 2 gallons your car won't start. Like if you run down too low, you'll have to add at least two gallons of gas before it'll start. anyone experience this in a G?
