Re: Cosworth Escort RS...
Well, I wouldn't say bulletproof, that's the first and last thing to completely go out on my 92LX 5-speed wagon. it started grinding gears in every gear, eccept 4th. So I let it sit up for 3 weeks and whatcha know, it's fine! I think it had something to do with the Shifter and the shifting rods going to the tranny cause when the gears ground, the rods stuck out 2 inches.

Re: Cosworth Escort RS...
I was not talking about a 45 hp Escort deisel. I was talking about the Rally Sport (thus RS) turbo escort that had roughly 227 bhp at 6250 rpm and 220 lb. ft at 3500 rpm. Jeez.

Re: Re: Cosworth Escort RS...
Hi I am from the UK and also drive an Escort RS Cosworth with a stage 3 conversion by Reyland. To buy a cossie they will set you back about £15,000 for one which has about 60,000 miles on the clock or one with about 15,000 - 20,000 miles on the clock you are looking to pay £20k-£22k.
These in my opinion are worth every penny. With 227 bhp as standard 4x4 system as standard and tunable to about 600bhp they are great cars and will beat many cars around a track. Quote:
