And yes, it's handling is superb, but as one of the video will indicate in this very site, it gets beaten by Gallardo and Murci in the end because of the overwhelming advantages they had on the short straights over NSX-R, obviously because of power.

The Viper, particularly the new SRT-10 is a better track car than current NSX. And though it may be a gas guzzler and little less reliable, the whopping cheaper price difference makes up for it. There is even a topic here where these two cars were throughly discussed and compared.

However, I think your post has been underappreciated. Considering you're preaching to a dragster newbie. Face it, some people like straightlines, while others are delighted by finer twists and turns of life. So I think it would have been better if you made that comment on the muscleheads forums, you're sure to have turn plenty of heads.

That isn't an up-spec viper though...the SRT-10 is actually the new viper, in stock form. So, stock vs. stock, the SRT-10>NSX. However, I don't think that's really a fair comparison...

I think the NSX created its own niche when it hit the market, a separate niche from Vipers or Z06's or any of those. IMO, its for a different type of car owner.

I really don't think that comparing the dodge viper to the nsx is a fair comparison. Althought the NSX is $15,000 canadian more, the viper has 310 more horsepower and 301 more lb-ft of torque, in straight lines it would kill the NSX. They are two very different cars, the viper, althought still good in the corners, is designed for courses with more straights(but still witth corners) and the NSX for courses with less straights. I don't know much about the NSX but I think in courses the each of the cars were designed for, they would beat the other. Now again, I'm not completely sure, this is my partly educated guess.

SRT-10 is the stock Viper you want to talk up-spec Vipers then lets talk Hennessey 1000, twin turbos on the V-10 900+hp at the rear wheels and 1000+ lbs of torque, plus a billion other mods that will make you park that over priced Honda Accord on the side of the road. For my money give me this...notice the price at the bottom...remember if you have to ask...its too much!
