damn i was just gonna post a topic about this. I'm not gonna do it cause i don't have the money, the car or the time. but if i did I would do this swap. A high revving mr-2.... mmm The rotary is probably a lot lighter than the 3stge so it might improve the handling.

actualy rotary engines are pretty heavy. the 13b-rew weighs just under 440lb's inluding the turbo's.a 13b longblock 'IIRC' weighs about 360lb's.
for a little perspective, an complete Ls1 weighs 450lb's.
not sure how much a 3s weighs..

mr2 mk1 with rotary. im planning to do that...just came on to see if anyones done this yet

Yes you could fit a rotary turbo in an sw20 engine bay but not sure about an aw11.

The rotary turbo would need to be mounted very low in the engine bay because of the height of the output shaft and the fact that it is already alot shorter than the 3sgte would make it such a pain to work on once installed.

the biggest problem would be setting up the gearbox.
