Re: hey i wanna get some extra imput on a new car.

16 yr old with a TT...please no...that's a recipe for disaster. Check out the Z31s. Someone said "89 and below"...that's not really right...it's the 84-89 300ZXs. There were Z cars before 84 that weren't Z31s. I got my first Z car when I was 16, just like you. An 86 2+2. It was a WOOOOOOOONDERFUL car. GET ONE! I LOVED that car more than life itself at times. I bought it for $2700 (cheap as fuck for a car) with 118,000 miles on it (not even the car's half life) and it ran GREAT for 3 years. It would STILL be running great if I would have had the money to maintain it...which isn't even all that much...I just REALLY had NO money...I was in college and...well...yea. Amazing cars. I regret selling that car to this day. I'd still have it and it would be running fine today if I hadn't let my parents talk me into selling it.

All in all...buy an N/A Z31. Amazing cars, all the power you need, a HELL OF A LOT OF FUN, and they will run for a LONG fuckin time, man. I went a LONG time with out doing ANY maintanence [sp.] and it NEVER gave me trouble. I'm on my second Z31 and I swear by them...go Z31 N/A, man.

No cheap as **** for a car is the 79 Valaryie station wagon with a slant 6 that was my first car.

Bid at Auction: $15

Plugs, oil, belt or two and a new door: $150

The bright aluminum "POS" letters where the grill should be: Funny as hell

I think I drove it away from the lot for like 42 dollars or something like that. And it ran, those damn slant 6 engines didn't have enough sense to die. Got me back and forth for a month or two before I got the 240.

The 240 felt like a Ferrari after the wagon.

Re: hey i wanna get some extra imput on a new car.

My first car was the 1990 Zed. Had to do SOOOOO much work to that damn car just to get it moving. Drove it for a few months. Sold it.

One day when im rich I'll track it down, buy it off the poor bloke, and send it to get restored.

Some day...

Re: hey i wanna get some extra imput on a new car.

Broke.....That rocks.....that beats the current record holder: my friend bought a olds cutlass for $75 off some old lady. Ran GREAT. It smoked a little after driving it for a while every day cuz it dripped oil onto the exhaust somewhere or something, but we didn't care. That was the best car ever cuz we didn't give 2 shits about it. Instead of trying to avoid running into things like usual, we AIMED for shit. We hit a speed limit sign once while going so fast that it sheered the metal post clean off about a foot and a half off the ground and the sign portion with the remaining ~3 feet of pole bounced off the hood and went flying over the car. We also tried to take out a bus stop once...bad idea...those are anchored REALLY well...it didn't move. Tons of stories about that car...but I'll stop there...

What I mean by saying that $2700 was cheap was that it was cheap for how good of shape the car was in. It was literally, in every way, like NEW. It had been in the same family since new and they took amazing care of it. I should have worded that differently....$2700 was cheap as fuck for a car that was pretty much new. You really can't beat the Z31 when it comes to value.

Example.

You can find hundreds of them on Autotrader.com. I found my first one in a local newspaper and the one I have now on Cars.com. If you keep your eyes open and know what to look for, you can find AMAZING deals on them. I got my turbo for a steal!
