Re: 98 transmission question

300+, what year is your car? Do u feel the shifting is not smooth at any time? After accelerating from stop, when i release the gas, i can feel it literally jump to a higher gear in a second or two. It did feel better after the ATF is changed.

mrtwo:

Mine is a '98, when you say the ATF was changed, did you do a flush or just change the pan fluid? My shifting is always smooth, can barely feel when it shifts.

Re: 98 transmission question

I just did the pan fluid. I feel your tranny is in good shape.

Re: 98 transmission question

Mine is a 92 with a 4 cylinder. It has always shifted hard and fast up after fast acceleration and a rapid let off of the gas. This is not unique to my Camry, my Saturn will do the same. No change in shifting after fluid drained.
