Also one problem i have ALWAYS had with replacing things on cars, is getting those damn bolts off that have been corroded into place for so long. How the hell can i get some of these off? Should i use penetrating lube or what

Yea CKY I would use some penetrating fluid if the bolts are hard to get off....I use "Liquid Wrench" and "Rust Eater" alot they sell both of them at AutoZone. If I were you I would just spray them pretty good and then let it soak in for a couple of minutes then begin wrenching away. Good luck with that job. Its not very difficult. I have changed mine about 3 times already. I have a 2g tho. Let us know how it goes..

Re: Car broke down tonight in middle of intersection...
Same thing happened in my 97gst. The alternator was pretty easy to replace, even for a girl, so I'm sure you could do it too. With mine I had to move stuff out of the way so I could get it out and to put the new one. $130-170. I know its wierd, cause you would think that it wouldn't run at all or charge the battery if the alternator was bad. I actually spent about 2 weeks arguing with people till I just replaced the alternator, then everything was just fine.
