Me too man...SE-R over GS-R...although the GS-R aftermarket is astronomical...I'd be unique and take the SE-R...

Re: Nissan V.S. Acura

plus a SE-R would be newer, so you'd be getting newer electronics and a better interior. And better looks imo. GSR is faster though, right? and it doesnt have that nasty stock torque issue

I just gotta add that the top speed is one of the few things that I dont really care much about when shopping for a car. how often you gonna go 153? or even 130 in the nissan?

but how often are you gonna hos it from a stoplight to the speed limit just for fun or up to 80 or so when street racing? probably WAY more often.

and the spec V has all that torque and getrs of the line and up to 30 a bit quicker, but as those stats show, form then on the ITR is gonna own it hands down as long as you can drive.

Re: Nissan V.S. Acura

acura is honda's line of "superior" vehicles. the fact that nissan is being compared to acura and not honda is a testament to nissan as a company. the type-r will most likely own a spec in every feasible manner, but it also cost near 30K brand new. you can pick up a 2004 SE-R for the slightly more than a used 00-01 ITR, and can have a new car warranty and the backing of nismo through the dealership.

SE-R vs Civic SI and Spec-v vs. GSR are more fair comparo's.

faster in what way? because it has been proven over and over that a Spec-V can take a Si in a road course. something really close to a Spec is the RSX Type-S. they are about the same in overall. but the SE-R out handles it!

Im sure he meant straightline speed. and I would take a RSX-S WAY before a spec V. looks SO much better.

Yes, I meant straight line acceleration as in 0 -60 mph and 1/4 mile racing.

Nissan needs desperatly to make the maxima a rwd. I have heard that the new cars are just too powerful for the fwd configuration

yeah, i agree, i would say the same for the new acura TL's as well.

most pople who consider rear wheel drive vehicles and also consider maxima's usually end up in an infiniti G35. same power, better drivetrain platform for performance, and stylish as hell.

Re: Nissan V.S. Acura

The G35 looks so much smaller though.

I wonder if both acura and nissan are waiting for the other one to make the jump to a rwd config. Nobody wants to be first.

With drifting becoming so popular, the maxima would make a really strange looking drifter. You would need alot more power though, I think.

Re: Nissan V.S. Acura

Infiniti is re-releasing their M45, which has the 345 hp 4.5L V8 and their new M35 which comes with the VQ35 tuned to 270+ and it's RWD. you can also get the v6 in AWD. you can build one here

It's pricey but i see it as a look towards possible plans for the maxima. nissan likes to use the same platform in a lot of their cars, so i'd guess that they're goining to let the altima be their FWD sedan to replace the current maxima and change the next generation Maxima to a RWD sedan, this way they can have a car to cover more of the consumer market.

that being said, we're a bit OT.
