Re: Wait a second...

If I find a 1979 skyline or even just a rolling chassis can I just ship it to CT? what would I have to do to make that happen. I've been on the lookout for some old school skylines around here but I want to know if it's going to be a realistic adventure.

there I said it 6 months ago and I'd say the same thing today. I have heard of a 25 year rule in the US and I am looking for some information on it. Is it as simple as, if the car's 25 years old you can bring it in and drive it on the street no problem or... are there criteria that need to be met other than just the age. It's sort of like canadas 15 year rule..... and for that.... yes you can just bring the car in with no problems when it's 15 years old. So I was just asking the same thing about the US. I see a few people on cardomain with 15 year old skylines in canada but I havent seen very many people who have used the 25 year rule in the US to bring a skyline in. there's nothing newbieish about it.and I'd still like to know.... hm..... let me check some government websites.....

Re: Wait a second...

I've done a bit of reading over the past few days and I still can't find anymore details. It seems like everything I read says that you must do this and this and this.... unless the vehicle is 25 years old. period. dot. Seeing as how none of the sites I sifted through mention anything further than just the age I post an open invitation to prove me wrong. if you can find something i'm missing please post it here because I'd like to know.... but for now I'm saying yes. If I find a 1980 or older skyline (25+) I can ship the car to the united states and register it. simple as that. If i missed something please let me know. or if you know someone who has imported any non USDM vehicle that is over 25 YO i'd like to talk to them.... thanks

Re: Wait a second...

Have you talked to an RI about it?
They would be the ones who know.

Re: Wait a second...

Or just contact MotoRex maybe? Would that work? I'm sure they would probably know what's what when it comes to importing skylines. That'd be where I'd turn first...
