I thought I would post to this thread again to be sure you see it. It's been about a month now since I swapped out the Raybestos semi-ceramic for their full ceramics and still no noise.

Good. Now the question is, will they wear out the disc faster than do the stock pads?

I hope not, as I have full ceramics on both my Camrys now. Only time will tell. At least competition has brought down the price of rotors and I have an extra set turned and stored away from my 98 Camry that will fit either the 98 or the 94. They have a very light spray of WD-40 on them are are stored wrapped in heat shrunk plastic to keep them from rusting.

I just don't want to replace the rotors every time I replace the pads.

My wifes car has worn down the pads and now they've been grinding the rotor for a few weeks now.. I know i know. :flamesuit on: .. just haven't had the time nor the money to do so because of the holidays.. Anyway.. i've never done a brake job and am going to get the Chilton manual or Haynes manual to do the job, was just wondering if there were any special tools I needed aside from the standard socket set?

You will need a 14MM wrench or socket to remove the 2 bolts that hold the caliper to it's mounting bracket and a 17MM wrench or socket to remove the 2 bolts that hold the caliper mounting bracket on. The caliper mounting bracket must be removed to remove the rotors for cutting or replacing. You will also need a 4 or 5 inch c-clamp or a large channel locks to push the pistons back in to the calipers so you can install the new pads.

Read the manual you purchase carefully and do one side at a time so you will have the other side for reference if you have a question.
