Well, living in a very small community, if you arent white as a ghost, you are a minority. There are very few minorities (people of different language, and/or skin color) but they are greatly descriminated due to the fact they speak a different language or "have a year 'round tan". It is a shame, to hear these people being mad fun of, or descriminated because of this. I guess not all of us see the beauty in life? Personally, I get very offended when I hear someone drop the N bomb (nigger) or calling someone from china a chink.

I really don't see why this is neccessary. Last month, there was a black guy in my school, whom was being picked on by 4 white people. All because he was "walking through they're group"...BS..you hit him because he is different than you!...and it was obvious that was the case..as they were cracking jokes about how they "beat up that stupid nigger" .

I , personally have never been on the other side of the racism, sure I have cracked a few racial jokes..but I'm sure the majority of us can be guilty of that one, in one snese or another. But, I had a chemistry teacher that really made us think about this. He spent 4 years in Kambodia (sp?) teaching the kambodians (sp?) whom are mainly of a darker skin color. And being that he is school glue white, year round, he was discriminated upon by these people.

I have never been discriminated by others about my pasty white skin, so I chose not to mock others because they have a "24/7 Tan"

Basically, My motto is, Treat others like you wish to be treated...theres some fancy bible saying like that..but I don't no it..so that one works

Only dish out what you would be willing to eat.

just throwing in my .
brief history:
the N workd comes from the latin word for black (nigger, pronounced neeger). eventualy moved into a racial derogotry term.
now for the reasons its used by many black people.
the common belief is that if you use a racial slur in a positive way amoung yourselvs then the world will eventualy loose its power as a negative word. the only problem is they think its fine to use amoung them selves but no one else can use it. so in essece (sorry i cant spell this mornin) the word still has its power because many people still get offended.
its similar in the way that homosexuals have the gay parades, and those queer parades. to make those terms no long offensive.
on a personal stand point i dont like to hear racial slurs in any form. i feel that if you dont want word used by someone, then you cant use it your self. if you dont want them calling you the N word then dont use it infront of them, or dont use it at all.
And call me sensitive but i get offended when i hear racial slurs, even if some dont apply to me i know people who it would. and those people who think its funny to use them just make things worse. like that comedian who calls herself a "Fag Hag". which i find entierly offensive to everyone and dont get why its funny.
anyways sory for the long post thats just my opinion.

well here in south florida the average white guy cannot get a job unless you speak spanish,some area's down here only speak spanish

We (white people) can't say Nigger without bein threatened, pretty much. Black's (not all) act like we owe them something, for what they're distant distant relatives went through. YOU KNOW WHAT?! Wow when I first read the topic I was like oh no this is going to get extremely heated, but everyone so far as ketp a cool head, well except for this last guy who resorted to capital letters anyways my personal motto is "you got to be able to take it, if you wanna dish it out" don't call white people "honkey" or "cracker" or "opie" or anything like that if you can't handle being called nigga. I personally think opie is funny as hell, and don't get offended. I don't have any close black friends, but have lots of mexican and asian friends and we always crack jokes. I would never do that though to someone i didnt know. BTW white people go through a lot of racism as well if you don't believe me just look at BET or the chappelle show! White people arent allowed to have their own white history month or have thier own tv station called White Entertainment Television. If white people did anything that explicity says it for white people only, they are labeled racists. So the moral of the story is that there are two sides to every story.

My granpa was killed by 5 blacks (only pissed at those 5 for that, no one else), and three of them got let off for lack of substantial evidance, by a black judge. Had it been 5 whites, they'd all been fried. My grandpa was beat to death, then had words and designs carved into his faced. My grandma was beat till they thought she was dead, she was in a coma for a year then came back as a vegetable. 2 of the 5 got convicted, one for life and one on death row. The other three would stand outside my house and yell at my family, about how my grandparents deserved it. And the court system couldn't do anything cause they'd already been tried (double-jeopardy). They'd been tried and released by a black judge. Like I said, im not racist, but had that been 5 white guys in california in front of that black judge, they'd all been nailed.

i don't think a black judge has anything todo with it...but yes if it were 5 causasions and 3 got off...there would have been hell to pay and know jesse or al would have had something to say...they always condem violence by other races but their own....i can't say that i'm 100% right by that statement though

Personally, in my opinion it's not the word or the name that should offend it's the context in which it's used. I'm White.... I call my firends and say What's up dawg all the time. I have Spanish friends, I pretend to be black, sometimes talk chinese, but I have the highest respect for all races, and don't do any of this with any dis-respect to anyone. Everyone just needs to lighten up.

You guy's want to know what I think is extremely funny? How every other race, Japanease/Chinease, African-American, and EMxican get offended when called a racial slur. But, what happens when you call a white person a cracker, lol, I usually just say, "Yup". I don't see what it is, not trying to start a fight, but maybe most of the people in those races are just really sensitive...

Well it's somewhat true to that. Magazines like Jet and Ebony were created because there weren't really any magazines in print that Blacks could really relate to. Same with Miss black USA, because black females wouldn't be allowed into the pageant. BET....that's around, because when music videos, the only black videos that one would be able to watch on MTV were ones with Michael Jackson in them really, other than that, a lot of black artists weren't shown on tv, so that's why BET came out....it was basically a Black MTV. Plus if you look at a lot of shows in primetime, how many minority shows can you name? other than the few shows on UPN, and My Wife and Kids or The george Lopez show, there aren't many else out there. I mean yeah sure there are roles with black people such as CSI or Law and Order, but that's as far as it goes. that's why they have Hispanic channels, Black Channels, and somewhat Asian Channels, because when you look at it, there's alot of White Channels on the tv screen.

And Jet-Lee i know how it is because i've had family killed by other blacks too. it's a horrible thing to go through, and i could see that that'd make you angry because it'd make me just as angry...just remember that when it's their (the killers) time to die, there won't be any mercy for them
