I'm doing the same thing, been working on it for a few years now. I have the doors cut out, and the interior all but done, and the rear louver cover done, but I still need to -figure out how to make good looking hinges for the doors -scratchbuild the frame -scratchbuild the engine -scratchbuild front luggage compartment That stinks about you DeLorean I hope to get one after college, a nice 81 with grey interior and 5 speed, that's also what I'm building this one after.

I know this will sound strange.....My Revell Porsche GT-1 EVO. Picked it up for 1/2 price at Hobby Lobby. Must be 10 bags of parts! I've never seen Revell attempt so much detail in 1/24.

Sort of lagging behind on the Repsol bikes cause there's too much large decals and I want to paint those schemes instead. Don't find my skills matching the criterias for that job.
More problematic is my idea too kitbash a Yamaha R1 with the swing arm from a Ducati 916 making a replica of a great bike I once saw. Problem isn't the bashing but the fact that all cowling parts has to be carbon fibre...... /Joel www.onetwelvth.com |

hey same for me!! But mine will be the McLaren MP 4/6 with perfect parts and many many other detail parts. I spent way to much money for all parts. But I will start to build the kit (with progress thread :-) ) after the perfect parts arrived. stay tuned |

Re: Which of you kits are you afraid of building...
I'm with TheSaint111, Tamiya Mclaren MP4/6. I already have the Perfect parts detail set and I just ordered the brake detail set from Racing Miniatures for it. I'm now researching wires for all the computers and different carbon decals for different textures. I've yet to order the Finishers Marlboro red paint but I'll get that soon.
Saint, I guess you've been to Bil's site and got his build notes for his MP4/6, maybe you and I could do a joint build on it, I'll be starting mine in August/September time when the brakes arrive.

For me is the resin kits!!!!
I have several to do buth all ways past to the botton of the pile! May be the dangerous is the Profil 24 McLaren GTR... They do to many parts and fragile also! Resin kits is expencive everiwhere buth think abouth the dollar versus real(our money in Brazil) Here for you buy a resin kit you need to think 100 times before! In one month the dollar can going up 5-10% Apart of this the Ferrari 512 s from Heller is another nyghtmare! 100's of rivets and extremely poor fiting! |

Can't really say it scares me that much, but it sure puts the pressure on. What I'm talking about? The AM McLaren M8B that's supposed to get really detailed with scratchbuilt AN-fittings, coolant hoses, oil- and fuel-lines the whole works. It's gonna take me forever to finish it, but it just has to turn out perfect, or I'll go
Niclas These are some of the braided hoses I made for the big banger.

Re: Which of you kits are you afraid of building...
I'm not too afraid to try things, but a couple of things I would like to do have me a little worried.
The first is the 1/12 Caterham by Tamiya, Got to get one! The build doesn't worry me, but the missus does! I f she sees how much it costs I'll be off beer for a year. Secondly I would like to try some military stuff, maybe some Brit' Desert Storm or something. Just coz I was serving back then and kind of miss the life a bit. Again, building doesn't worry me but I am really bothered about weathering, never done it, don't have a clue how to. Richie

I'm not sure that I'm 'afraid' of any of them.
I've got quite a few that demand more time and attention then I want to supply in a large enough quantity to finish them in a reasonable period of time. So, I'll say that they exceed my attention span.

I'm assuming that both you and Willster have the Tamiya Perfect Parts detail pics? If not I THINK I have an electronic copy of them...I know I do for the Williams and Ferrari. PM me if y'all need anything and of course Bil's site is perfect for detail images as well. Bill |

The kit I don't want to mess up is a 1969 Camaro SS396 Coupe. It's planned to be a replica of of my dad's old car. I already have all the bits and pieces including PE parts and tons of reference material. I'm missing one thing, Le Mans Blue paint. I've purchased many parts that have added up to quite a bit, and can't buy replacements if I mess them up. The car will include opening doors, hood, and trunk. I've done a few things to it already, but don't want to get to far ahead of myself and screw it up.
