Re: Fujimi AE86 and Tamiya Impreza WRC stock

I'm not a rallycar fan but I think that Suby looks awesome! Really nice work.

oh yes, sugarfree,
initially the trueno shell does not have open headlights, but the instruction mentions about pop-up headlights
turns out u have to cut open the closed headlights, but do not screw up the covers! u'll need those! then there are 2 optional parts to be installed: the headlight and the clear lens
thx to Fujimi's "excellent" (wink wink) parts, the headlight, lens, and the cover will fit together "nicely", and then viola! open headlights

the headlight part took me 2 dayz: first test fit, then sand off extra plastic, test fit again, more sanding, then glue them together, then paint. oh yea, use Microscale Krystal Klear (or white glue) to glue the headlight lens

Excellent job man! Especially on the Subaru, I love nice clean WRC subies

I would also add for anyone wanting to open the headlights on the Trueno, use a SHARP, new blade knife, and DO NOT cut them out from the inside, the kines on the inside are incorrect, and you may end up slicing throught the headlight door itself like I did, and have to glue, putty and sand away that mistike for a while! Just follow the lines on the outside, and take your time, and they will come out nice and clean!

I think the car looks good without panel lines, but if you do add them, I would recommend using a light or medium gray, as black usually is a heavy contrast on a white car.

Hi guys,

here are 3 more pics taken on the very same day as the previous photos
but be warned: they are not in excellent quality!!

this pic was taken to "simulate" an Initial-D stye race (doesn't really make sense to race a rally car with a normal street car). Anywayz if u saw Initial-D 3rd stage this may sorta remind u of the race between Takumi and Kai Kogashiwa with the "car jumping off hairpin curves" trick, but that's for Initial-D fans out there!
