Re: College vs. Highschool

In the Real World, the govt takes their cut from your swag.

I can't wait for uni, if I go. 21 y/o male in a class of 18 year old young ladies. Ahhh, life will be grand.

* In high school, you wear your backpack on one shoulder; in college, on both. In the real world, you'll probably need a cart to haul your work around.

* In college, the professors can tell you the answer without looking at the teacher's guide. In the real world, your boss has no idea what you do all day.

* In college, there are no bells or tardy slips. In the real world, you get fired for being late.

* In high school, you have to live with your parents. In college, you get to live with your friends. In the real world, you live in a cubicle.

* In college, you don't have to wait in a certain lunch line to be cool. In the real world, you eat at your desk.

* Only nerds e-mailed in high school. Cool kids hadn't heard of it. In the real world, you keep every email, ever, so that no one can ever say that you didn't send them that one memo.

* In high school, you're told what classes to take. In college, you get to choose; that is, as long as the classes don't conflict and you have the prerequisites and the classes aren't closed and you've paid your tuition. In the real world, you do your work, and sometimes your boss' work, too.

* In high school, if you screw up you can usually sweet-talk your way out of it. In college, you're lucky to ever talk with the professor. In the real world, you're lucky to avoid your boss.

* In high school, fire drills are planned by the administration; in college, by the drunk frat boys on their way home when the bars close. In the real world, "fire drills" are the work your boss gives you that's due by the end of the day.

* In college, any test consists of a larger percentage of your grade than your high school final exams ever did. In the real world, anything you do all year could turn up on your performance appraisal.

* In high school, when the teacher said, "Good morning," you mumbled back. In college, when the professor says, "Good morning," you write it down. In the real world, when your boss says "Good morning," he means, "Where's the work you were supposed to finish yesterday?"

* In high school, freshman guys hit on senior girls. In college, senior guys hit on freshman girls. In the real world, you hit on any woman who's still there after you say "Hi."

* In college, weekends start on Thursday. In the real world, you work on weekends.

* In college, it's much more difficult to figure out the course schedule of the man/woman you have a crush on, in order to figure out where he/she will be walking around campus and at what time to find them there. In the real world, you just hang out in bars.

* Once you've obtained the information described above, it's much more time-consuming to run between classes to that place where you know he/she will be in order to "just happen to bump into him/her." In the real world, you're not nearly interested in the other people that hang out in bars.

* In college, there's no one to tell you not to eat pizza three meals a day. In the real world, you're lucky to eat twice a day. And both meals will be microwaved.

* In college, your dad doesn't pay for dates. In the real world, you don't have the energy for dates.

* In high school, it never took 3 or 4 weeks to get money from Mom and Dad. In the real world, you owe. You'll get calls daily to remind you.

* College men are cuter than high school boys. In the real world, men all want you to be their mommy.

* College women are legal. In the real world, you work in an office with land whales.

* In college, when you miss a class (or two or three), you don't need a note from your parents saying you were skip....uh, sick that day. In the real world, if you're not at work, you'd better be in the hospital.

* In high school, you can't go out to lunch because it's not allowed. In college, you can't go out to lunch because you can't afford it. In the real world, you expense your lunch (which you eat at your desk,) and get yelled at for it by Accounting later.
BRILLIANT!

Tis a lie!!!! I'm in high school, and I pick my own classes. I talk the hot girls into taking the honors classes with me, so when they struggle, I get to tutor. Hehehe I'm an academic player!

Re: Re: College vs. Highschool

I also got to choose most of my high school subjects as well.... Too bad I picked ones that I was rubbish at, like English and Bio (and for the most part Maths).

Re: Re: College vs. Highschool

Oh yes Rhys and I get to be a 19 year old second year, who partonises the 21 year old first year

Now I think it's only natural that Uni is far greater than High school will ever be- Comparing hostel life in Wellington to what the boarders at SHC had (Stringent rules and more stringent rules). Though this upcoming term is going to suck......Two law papers (Case and Statute law), an Accounting paper and an advanced Economics paper

Remember, I know where you live!

And I knows where the Hannah girl lives too, so I'll probably make a detour before I get to your place :P
