Re: is this is scam??

Identity theft scam.. First talk to someone at your bank to make them aware of the situation. This is to ensure that they have it on "" RECORD "" so if your account shows signs of tampering" you will be covered"
I would get a hold of the Better Business Buruea. This is so they can start an investigation. AGain this is for covering your tracks. Records.
The IRS wouldnt really do anything, because they deal with tax fraud and what not.

Contact The Office of Inspector General (OIG)

Alert the credit agencies.
Trans Union - Phone: 800-680-7289
P.O. Box 1000, Chester, PA 19016-1000.

Experian (formerly TRW) - Phone: 888-EXPERIAN (888-397-3742)
P.O. Box 9532, Allen, TX 75013.

Equifax - Phone: 800-525-6285
P.O. Box 105069, Atlanta, GA 30348.

Contact your local police department, so you can inform them of the situation.
Also contact the federal office, so they can start their investion.
Last, contact your local DA and attorney general.

NEVER GIVE ANY PRIVATE INFO to "" ANYONE "" unless, you know who it is or what company your dealing with.

The new laws that have been established in 2003 & 2004 carry a stiff punishment to those who do this kind of thing.

Good luck..

scam pt2

hmmm, recently I also nearly got scammed.

This guy called me up from India [he had the accent], and said that I somehow won a brand new mobile phone!. Naturally I was stoked and gave him my name and address but then things got fishy, he wanted my drivers license??! and I replied hell no!, then I started questioning him about who he works for and why I have won shit. Then he went all quite and tryed to change the topic, etc.

It turns out this scum wanted to send me, a phone and collect my bank details then also charge me for a plan, in which I would be contracted to for like 3 years! PLUS he'd have my credit card/bank details and could literally screw me.

I just said, "hey mate, tell me the rest after the beep" and I hung up..

Hey thats awesome. I was looking for the scam being recorded somewhere. Thats exactly what it was. I'm not going to give them any information, but i was more wondering who to call to report them, but i guess i could call the police and just go from there. I saw that someone else posted some links to report these kind of things too.

Man mabye I'm just an easy target, but these scam people called me as I was leaving a strip club where a stripper just con'd me outta like 50 bucks and never called me like she said she would
