Re: Re: 94 jc won't start

Gee it would sure be nice if you would reply directly to our resonses. Does the distibutor move when cranked? did you replace the coil wire? did you try cranking the engine in the dark? If you want to use these forums then you have to tells use what you did. Yes a coil could cause it but if you had read and followed my instuctions then you would know that. do the work, we are leading you to the problem!

A Frustrated LEo!

Yes the distributer moves when cranked. Yes I replaced the coil wire and a the spark plug wires. I tried cranking the engine in the dark. No spark at spark plugs and intermittent spark at coil. Sorry for not replying to your tips. Your help is greatly appreciated

Re: Re: 94 jc won't start

remove the high tension wire from the coil, look for any sign of a trail that leads down the side of the coil, it might look like a pencil mark or a crack. if there is one that is definatly the problem

Re: 94 jc won't start

Problem solved. Turns out it was the coil after all. I put the distributer in 180 off after installing the camshaft position sensor. But now I have a new problem after driving for about 5 minutes the check engine light comes on. I retreived code 51- engine to lean. I live in colorado at about 8000 feet. when I had the computer tested is it possible they installed fuel metering for sea level and now my engine is getting to much 02 because of the computer?
