STI vs WRX
The single biggest advantage the STI has that the standard WRX doesn't is the driver controlled center differential (DCCD). Especially if you are driving on varying road conditions, being able to control the F/R torque bias for different grip levels is a huge advantage. For the same money, you can modify the WRX to be faster and handle about the same on any one given road surface, but without the DCCD it's going to cost quite a bit more in both time to change the settings of the suspension and the cost of the parts themselves to get the car to hndle better on dry pavement, in rain, in snow, and on gravel.
