Re: how can i beat v8 i.e. American cars

not worth it at all...
best (and cheapest way) to beat a big block domestic is to have a big block domestic.

Re: how can i beat v8 i.e. American cars

that defeats the purpose of having a domestic... if you wanna compare cars by price consider this... 2004 cobra about 35-40k$ about 400hp v8 ... honda s2000 about 35k$ and about 240 hp ... now we are talking a race, much better comparison than PRELUDE/COBRA

Re: how can i beat v8 i.e. American cars

Preludes ARE fast for a stock 4 banger. and on the street it is alot the driver, JDM parts such as Spoon and Mugen yes are alot of durability but you pay for the name to make it JDM. Personally i could care less if my car was really close that of a Japanese market Prelude. Trusting Performance parts can be found for the prelude for half the price of a Spoon/Mugen. The Name is wut you get yes with the dependability, but just as dependable parts can be found for half the price (if your willing to sacrifice the NAME)... As for beating them build the engine with a turbo, cams, port and polished head/intake manifold, Fuel system and wut not... And where are you planning on racing these cars? Street, track, flat out???

no problem ... go for stage 3 turbo or drag if you have the money. Piston high compression will be good mod ... Vtec top/H23 bottom built piston
can pull 250 Horse easy . not mention Turbo come with it .
wow... i sure hope youre kidding about a turbo kit and high comp pistons wouldnt be the wisest choice of mods.

Re: how can i beat v8 i.e. American cars

I don't think Prelude's were meant to go fast in a straight line. They are NOT drag cars by any means. The are a blast to drive, kinda quick, and handle wonderfully. The steering feel and response is great! But you know this. Point i'm trying to make is, if you want to beat the american muscle with a Honda, you had better get a CRX w/ turbo, or something else lightwieght enough to use that HP you are trying to make.

Re: how can i beat v8 i.e. American cars

as far as i'm concerned, the number of cylinders has nothing to do with how sporty or fast the car is. who cares if it's a v8 v6 i4, or even v12 w18. so what. it's fairly evident we have seen fast cars from all of these catagories. i don't understand why people even argue about this.

i totally agree, the number of cylinders doesnt mean anything... horsepower per cylinder, weight of the car, mods, etc are what make the car fast, not the number of cylinders... take a look at these mercury grand marquise and ford crown vics, they are v8 and are not fast cars at all, and what about trucks with v8s? are they going to beat a 4 cylinder just because they have 8 cylinders? dont make bullshit posts when you dont know what you are talking about... number of cylinders usually doesnt mean anything
