well you can plug it the old fashion way and put a screw or a small bolt in the vacuum line, or go the parts store and get the little cap that plugs vacuum ports

cant honestly tell ya, i've always heard that they will burn up without a lock up switch, but i think that's mainly if you do a lot of highway driving

yeah but im talking about a lock up converter..not a switch. im not getting a lock up converter so i wouldnt need a switch anyway.

ok, if your going with a non lock-up converter than ya, you'll be fine. i thought you were using the stock converter

so the pre 84 models had 27 spline and need the lock up switch and the 85 and up had 30 spline and dont require a lock up switch??

uhh it's been a while since i've been inside a 700R4. but i think there's a plunger in the front of the valve body that goes into the front pump with wire's running to a square connector on the outside of the transmission. seems like you jump 2 of those posts or apply 12v to one of em to get it to lock up. what most people dont know, is that on fuel injected engines, you can lock up the torque converter by jumping 2 terminals on the service port. cant remember which ones tho
