Re: How often do you change your oil?
Amsoil baby. 0W30 2000 series. You can go up to 20-25K miles, but I usually changed it at 10K to be safe.
I have been using it on my last 4 cars, no problem so far. Ledio |

I used to religiously change my oil & filter every 3,000 miles but I no longer subscribe to that way of thinking. With the way Toyota engines are made and the way motor oil is formulated, I don't see the need to change it as often any more. I'll change my oil/filter every 5,000 miles on my 03 Camry 4-cyl. I use Havoline/Shell either 5w-30 or 10w-30 petroleum oil. Dutch Royal Shell company acquired Havoline a little while back. Toyota recommends 5w-30 but, according to my dealer, they have also approved 10w30.

Re: How often do you change your oil?
I use AMSOIL in both of my high milage Camrys....
They have a XL-7500 oil that is designed for Quick Lubes & high milage engines.... Have also used the 2000 series oil that goes up to 25,000 miles but changed at 8,000 miles because of high miles on Camry.... Oil will wear out their additive package over time depending on how you drive the car.... TBN of Amsoil is 10.2 for the XL-7500 oil & > 12 TBN for the Series 2000 oil.... I believe the TBN for Mobile 1 is around 8.... Bob

Re: How often do you change your oil?
I agree with comfort level and age of car.
My Camry with over 300,000 miles got changes every 8-10,000 with the oil on sale. Now about every 5,000 with Walmart oil. Fram filters cause they're easy. Some of my less well built cars I change closer to the 3k number. |
