Good morning Mr. Dahmin8,
Yikes! Sorry to learn of the problems you encountered. I suppose in one way or another, any performance mod that boosts power, decreases mechanical reliability...something Honda Motors prides itself on. Your experience is why I've been slow to reinstall my VENOM module, & my story would be the same if it was someone else's ECM. A while back I was on the COMPTECH.com site, back when they had their own messageboard. Not all may know of them & their fame for engineering custom Honda race performance modifications. Their staff was recommending the addition of an accessory transmission cooler to match with their superchargers...makes sense. Also, there is another recommendation, 'LEVEL 10', which offers high performance transmissions & torque converters. IMO, any significant power gains over stock specs probably warrant a 'look' at beefing-up the rest of the power train...a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Chowhound |

Re: Venom 400
Guys this thread is over 2 years old...please check the dates on the left, before reviving a dead thread.
Secondly, I have stated my views on chips and the venom 400 more times than I want to think about...if you try using the search feature, I'm sure you find more 'technical' responses than "I put it in, and it felt faster". They are POS in my opinion. Take it for what you will, it is your car, do what you want, but prior to believing the words of the company who is trying to sell you their product, may I suggest doing some searching on AF and get the opinions of 3rd parties, such as our knowledgable members, who have nothing to gain.
