US has the sh*#iest drivers

I'm all about *bending* the rules if the situation permits. But not breaking them. Except speeding.

Things about driving in L.A. that have been on my mind latley.

1. People go 55 in a 35 zone but drive 20 on the freeway onramp.

2. ladies in S.U.Vs are all street-racers, why else would they all floor the gas pedal at the sight of a green light?

3. People buy S.U.Vs so they can see over other cars, everybody gets an S.U.V ...then nobody can see over anybody elses car, so they get bigger S.U.V.s, and they get taller, and taller, and taller, until small cars are safe because you san see UNDER the traffic.

4. It's impossible to be followed by the same car for more than 3 minutes, you just HAVE to be passed, even if you're pushin the speed limit.

5. People in L.A. accuse street-racers of driving unsafley, then they do thier homework behind the steering wheel (witnessed), drink coffee at 85 MPH, and last but not least...drive S.U.Vs.

Thats about it.

I'm from the LA area too and have witnessed some crazy stuff myself...they say that if you can drive in Southern California, you'll have no trouble driving anywhere else

My wife just got back from her trip to Shanghai and Seoul - shes of the opinion that anyone who drive in Korea is taking their lives into their own hands. Nobody pays any attention to traffic signs, laws or each other. Its a big free for all.

We have dumbass drivers that's for sure. I've almost been hit or seen them more times than I can count. But has anyone been to Mexico and ridden in the Taxi's. That's some scarey shit. They'll get you from one side of town to the border in like 2 minutes. Talk about pissing your pants.....

Colorado gets worse by the day. In a five minute period over like twenty feet, I almost got hit the guy brushed my back side, and then once the light was red, an old honda was stopped behind this huge truck, and while the light was still red the honda just gasses it and smashed into the trucks tow hook. Laughed my ass of but i woulda kicked the guys ass for hittin my car for no reason. BTW, the truck driver just drove off.

Out of all the states I've driven in (and it's a lot) I've got to say that Colorado has the worst drivers in America. People driving 55 in the fast lane, Polish road blocks, you name it, Colorado has perfected it.

Colorado's problem is that NOBODY follows the speedlimit, I can't even remember the last time I've seen anybody do 55 in any lane! There's just a bunch of assholes in SUVs and pickups, all going 70+ and rarely using their blinkers, never checking their blindspots.

Guys you seriously got it easy in the U.S., I live in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and believe me the drivers here and 10 times worse than anything in the U.S. . Just look up some of this countries statistics on the web and you'll see what i'm talking about.

For one thing, one out of every 5 cars here is an S.U.V. like a landcruiser or nissan patrol.
Secondly, well when i go to pick up my sister from school I see countless and countless kids around 15-17 who are driving their big powerful S.U.V.'s back from school coz their driver lets them (everyone has a driver here by the way ).
Third, too many young guys here have rich daddy's to buy them porsches, mercedes sl500's and pretty much anything they want, with all that money they don't give a shit if they're gonna damageor crash their car so they drive like maniacs 9 times out of 10.
Fourth, the fines here are ridiculously petty and small. for speeding regardless of how much over the limit, the only fine you will pay is equivalent to around $50 U.S.dollars and thats it. I am convinced this is why there is such a high road accident fatality in this country but its never gonna change.

well theres a lot more but i'll just stop at that trust me, whenever i'm back in Australia I count my blessings compared to the crazy ass drivers i have to put up with here

I believe the most dangerous drivers are:

Anyone who drives and SUV and has not had an accident (their day is coming).

Any blonde women who drive anything.

Any illegal immigrants driving anything.

Any kid under the age of 19 who thinks he's the shit cuz Daddy bought him a great car to make up for everything he's lacking.

Any young girl driving anything of or from Daddy.

Any senior citizen that is 'always right'.

Anyone from any foreign country that did not pass a North American drivers test with absolute 100% flying colours.

Anyone that lives in Quebec or Toronto.

This is true, about the speeding. I was there for xmas and was blown away. My inlaws drove 10-15 over the whole time, and NEVER PASSED ANYBODY, because everyone else was going at least 15-20 over the limit. It was so strange, because here in Utah we have about 1/2 the people speeding (but not quite as fast!) and 1/2 going REALLY slow looking for the antiques shop or the country kitchen buffet.

To the person who said Californians are the worst drivers...no, retired Californians are the worst drivers. They still drive frantically as though they're in Cali, but without the vision, reflexes, or ability to operate a turn signal that they used to have.
