Re: Post your rig!!

I'll start this of with a shot of my fiber optic internet connection. 87.5Mbps up and down minimum guarenteed rate. up to 100Mbps full duplex.

Which connects you to my firewall and then to my webserver (both linux based)

not too much for hardware in there:

just dual P3's and a gob of ram, throw in a half a TB of storage space and slap linux on that bad boy. Now that's a webserver/fileserver.

I was going to ask where the hell you are in the country to be getting fiber optic into your home, then I looked in your profile and it made sense. I can count on one hand how many places in the US that are even trying that, and I worked with one of them. I guess it is more wide spread in Japan.

Man, that must be nice.

Bah, you suck. Costs me $60/month for 1.5 Mbps DSL.
I miss my T3 connection from my ISP job.

Really?

I only pay $40 for mine and I get 1.6Mbit down and 1.1Mbit up. Anyhow, I would kill to get fiber op run into my house, so $85 is very reasonable to me.

Better than killing someone.

Re: Post your rig!!

yeahhhh, just hit 100 days of uptime on my webserver. Could not have done it without the help of an UPS and Linux.
