I think #049 was just an assumption though, made using 'process of elimination' based on the color. I don't think it's actually been confirmed. Maybe someone remembers something different.

Thanks in advance!!

I'm surprised no one mentioned the error on the spec page. It says the F1 has a rear anti-roll bar, but it doesn't.

Re: EVO Magazine - June 2004 - Carrera GT -vs- McLaren F1 (scans!)

it was mentioned before, i believe even autocar had this wrong in their famous test of it.

EDIT: on the chassis number thing...
i've seen this car in person, doors open, but i don't remember the chassis number and my pics are somehow lost (stupid yes, but i can vividly remember it which is more important!) so i really don't have a good clue on what car it is. Chris has been there as well and he got the chance to sit in it too, so he is someone who should know it like me, but i think he doesn't know it for sure too.

Re: EVO Magazine - June 2004 - Carrera GT -vs- McLaren F1 (scans!)

if you've got the issue of evo where the elise GT1 was featured... well, the tourists who unsheathed their fag saized digital cameras were me and my friends who were taking the old folks from hong kong on a trip to leads castle.

the pics were taken right next to where the falsonary shows are done and when they started the engine (to move the car) it more than caught their attention....
great day.

and yeah, i'll find an original file for you.
not sure how big it is though.
pm you later.

monkey.

monkey: Wow! That pic really did remind me of that article. You definitely were lucky.

I didn't sit in it. I had sat in the blue one a few days before and i felt it was appropriate to ask to sit in it considering they were nice enough to open specially for me. Its an amazing car and i hope to go back this summer and possibly sit in it. I am convinced it is Mercedes Brilliant Silver though

I recall Chris saying that the car was parked with the right side near a wall and that he couldn't see the plaque from where he was. No biggee...

It's a real shame that McLaren Cars didn't display the chassis number prominently on the roof like those numbers you see on the roof of a Police car - then we'd have no problem identifying each and every one.

J/K btw...

Re: EVO Magazine - June 2004 - Carrera GT -vs- McLaren F1 (scans!)

i meant to say " i didn't feel it was appropriate.." my bad

The guy opened the door and said be careful of the carbon fiber on the floor (some peice was sitting in the passenger footwell). If i had sat in it. the 1st thing i would have done is looked at the chassis #.

If mclaren displayed the chassis on the roof of the car we wouldn't have anything to talk (READ: Argue) about

Re: EVO Magazine - June 2004 - Carrera GT -vs- McLaren F1 (scans!)

My friend told me about it in class today. How much is the Evo mag here in the U.S.? And the only places to pick it up are like Borders, Barnes and Noble etc.?
