Re: timing issue? or what?

sounds like either your timing is off or your tps (throttle position sensor) is bad/not reading correctly. check those 2 things before you start searching for other probs.

Re: timing issue? or what?

i can tell you from my own experience that not to many mechanics know how to do a timing belt change on ours cars , with the Talon I had, i send it to one mechanic to do that job, he charge me 220 and did it wrong at the first time, so I took it back to him, and he said that his job was just perfect, he said "I'm a professional I worked in this 25 years" I can say now BS (he was from Argentina as I am, thats why I trust to him at the very first time), so I tooked to another mechanic he charge me another 220 and told me that the timing was 2 tooth out he fix it and the car start runnig like an F1 unfortunately one of the hoses of the intercooler pipes was loose so I start having a huge boost leak, I took it back to the mechanic he check it and fix it for free, but I notice that I was having to worst gas millage in the world ( another problem), so I tooked to another mechanic he charge me another 220 fix the time AGAIN now 5 tooth out, and he found that it were a lot of bolts missing, he fix that too. And after that the car was running so good that it was impressive the diference .
So as you can see it's not easy to find a good mechanic that fix your car in the right way, next time i will do it my self, it's gonna be cheaper and if I do it wrong it's gonna be my fault.
my counsel is go back to the mechanic who did the rebuilt and tell him to fix the problem the engine should be under their guarantee.
