i just know the cams are stronger in the 91

either way, mines a DOHC, and i got the engine to prove it :-D

i've got the 1991 cams in one of my 92 240sx, and they are a noticeable diff especially with a good header!

so since the cams are better in the 91 than the newer models, you get more valve clearance right? is it possible to put a 91 cam into my 89? im guessing no cuz of the dohc and sohc, but im hoping its possible. cuz of right now, my engine needs air, badly. and to do it your self, all you have to do is pop the head off, take out the old one, pop in the new, redo the timing, and your set??

you cant use the 91 cams because of the dual setup and yours is a single cam, but if your gonna build on your ka24e go with basic in and outs, if you want a cam upgrade get a gude cam, www.gude.com, gude cam create great power, i suggest getting a gude header too, i run a gude header with my 92 240sx with 91 cams, but the header is very pricey, but any good header will help alot, obx has a header for fairly cheap, very good quality though! but what i really suggest is an sr20det, only way to go!! Sr20s are seriously very strong, my 2nd fastback has a sr20det witha Apexi turbo upgrade, Apexi Power FC commmander, Apexi front mount, toda cams, u.l. flywheel and ACT stage 3 clutch, Cwings Power ignition system, at 14lbs. of boost it's creating very close to 400rwhp on a stock bottom end! Boost a ka24e or de and they are very prone to detonation, very prone!! if you cant afford a sr20 try the ca18det, my friend has 1 in his fastback and it moves, he pulls hard on my ka24de with his stock ca18det, i think they are like 180hp & 175 lbs. ft of torque stock.

the ka is only bad for turbo if it hasnt been rebuilt, the internals are friggin cast, the pistons are the only soft spot. but if you turbo a ka, even with the same turbo as a stock sr, the ka will win with its .4 extra liters. i have no money, so i was looking for a cheap but effective upgrade. id love an sr or an rb, but way outa my price range right now
