His celica has a buddy club kit...it looks pretty tight in person and his exhaust is loud as crap.

Here's the picture, for all of those lazy bums who don't want to bother clicking the link.
![]() Man, that really looks nice. I love the new Celicas.

I'm not a mod, can I still post. heh. I think it has the looks but lacks the power. If toyota could put the power of a supra into the styling of a celica, and make it driveable while still being barely streetable, I think they might have something. They also need to work on their VVTI <==or whatever it is. I've heard it's not designed all that well. It's a shame.

Hey y'all. I was just wondering how much a GTS costs. A friend of mine is planning to buy one, and wants to know the MSRP. What's the cheapest he can get one for.

I don't know exact, but I would guess mid to high 20K. I'd look for a used one still in good condition though.
As for it not having enough power...huh? 180 hp is quite a bit for a car in this class. that's 20 more than an Si, right? Zero to 60 has to be damn near that of a camaro V6, and probably beats a 'Stang V6...all for better gas mileage and better reliability. Besides, there is still plenty of aftermarket for it.

First off its VVTL-i for GT-S and VVT-i for GT. Think its not a well designed variable-cam system? Don't live off of hearsay; I dont have the time to put it all in, so go read SCC's more recent issues, I believe they have detailed VVTL-i vs. VTEC comparisons and you will understand the results. Even though I am an avid Nissan enthusiast I did buy a Celica recently for a daily driver and good God, with a LONGER wheelbase and SHORTER overall length than previous Celicas (which already handled your mother), it drives like a kart; I seriously envy those Long Beach Grand Prix Pro-Celebrity racers... a road course destined for cars like the Celica. Good work, Toyota, but wheres your grand tourer?

heh, i liked trd's (or whoever it was) ultimate celica concept more... It seems like toyota is skipping the streetrace scene now when the gtfour and supra isn't being produced anymore...

Here is another limited production japan-ONLY variant we will never get to smell in the States:
Toyota Racing Development always comes through as an in-house specialty race product producer for Japan's gargantuan automaker. Their most recent turnkey machine is the Celica TRD Sports M. Putting out an even 200hp, it's not an untamed beast, but it is TRD's high-quality details that round up its unmatched popularity. Toyota has already designed an overwhelmingly capable yet street-smart slot car for the masses. In natural form, it can overtake the majority of its class, but deliver enough refinement as to not feel that it was designed solely for the track. How about one that IS? Heavy suspension and flowing power from the 2ZZGE linked via a subtle yet unique aesthetic appeal, packages to bring the consumer the ultimate factory Celica. However, unlike its competition, such as the Integra Type-R, this creation retains the beauty of a street-legal tuner: creature comforts. While the majority of limited "race-models" deny air conditioning as well as other accessories, this Celica is built with the works, including the factory navigational system. So who would need this "junk" on a race track? Believe it or not, many of these rare elites live on the street. Only some are bought and used on the track, and of those that actually are, many lead double lives, pounding both types of tarmac. And if a diet is mandated, anyone capable of hard driving should be able to lose the extras. OK, time to shut up and display: |

Voiceless, are you referring to the yellow AWD turbocharged Rod Millen (and company...) F1 nosed Celica? That one-off is a masterpiece, but it seems to be taking a step backwards, utilizing the ever popular 3S-GTE (all-trac/GT4) rather than making developments on the newer 2ZZGE.
Anyways here is some more of the Celica TRD Sports M: |

Gotta love that centered tachometer (as opposed to having the speedometer steal the show):

This shot isn't from the TRD model, but I included it to display the navigation system unavailable in the States. The Sports M has this as well.

Aside from the addition of the cleanly appearing ground effects, there is also a rear spoiler unique to the Sports M (the response to this part may be polarized): |
