Okay,
Maybe its just me, but I would consider doing the flames in a color other than silver.
I am not sure if you have HoK's color chips, but under the some of the candies, the difference between gold basecoat and silver basecoat is almost un-noticeable.

While this works great for ghosting flames, it may be so close that you don't even notice the difference.

I assume that you are going to put the same color candy over the whole car, and have the flames show because of the different undercoat colors?

Great idea.
Whatever you decide I am looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Nice project.

And idea for the flames, before you put on the actual color. Paint the flames in bronze on top of the gold. Then paint over it all with some translucent color, like lime green. That will give a kool effect, works with some colors, not sure exactly what colors. Mess around with some Model Master paints.

Well it's been 2 days, and here a few shots w/ the flames. And yes the expo is upside down. Do not adjust your viewing position.

Looks pretty nice. How many builds do you have going on right now anyway?

Well, yeah the flames do not do much for me either, but you do have to try different things in this little love affair for models. You live and learn! Are you going to come to the meeting? If you need a ride, pm me or cadguy!!!
