Re: New JDM RS*R Exhausts

I used Testors Transparent Candy Apple Red. At first I only did the blinkers but then the orange was showing through the reverse light so I decided to red those out also. If you get real close you can tell there are 3 shades of red: the stock red, the blinker red, and the reverse red. The reason is because the blinkers were my first experience with transparent spray paint, so it turned out kind of shitty and fogged. The reverse lights are almost perfect, only a slightly different shade from stock, but they are glossy so they look much better. From only a few feet you can't tell, but up close you can.

If you're not interested in redding them out, I'd suggest smoking just the blinker and reverse light, so it goes red, black, red. I've seen this done on only a few JDM Accords and it looks pretty good.

Oh yeah, and I taped off everything except the blinker/reverse lenses when painting so as to not over-lap the stock red and thus make it look darker. I am worried about it fading over time, but fortunately these are an extra set of tail lights. I've heard the red transparent vinyl looks much better and doesn't fade, but is more expensive.
