Question Hey Schlud...

In that pic you posted, did your SSR's actualy clog, or did they clear once they were rolling again?

I haven't gotten my SSR's to really clog yet, they have packed up a few times but have cleared by themselves once I hit to gas.

BTW, aquamander...

From what I understand it's fairly common for Swampers to have defects from the factory...fortunately for me I've been lucky, my SSR's were balanced well from the get-go and I haven't had any real vibration/shimmy w/ them at speed.

Let us know if your opinion changes any once you get your new tire.

Heh, heh.

Ben should know. I fired about 20 rounds of 2" mud-lugs at him in one area.

I ordered a set of Nitto N460 Touring tires for my Civic from them. Great price and to my door in 2 days flat. I would purchase from them again.

Talking The tire has been replaced and the problem fixed!!

Well, I got a call yesterday from my tire friend. He told me he had my replacement tire and I should promptly leave work and report to his shop so he could put it on.

(my boss knew that was killing me so he let me split)

First off, I could tell when the bad tire was on the truck it had a audible pulsating whir. We pulled the tire off the truck, and put it on the balancer. Maybe it was me, but I could see the tread wasn't running true. Some folks may think that is BS but I think if the tread deviates too far from center, it will have the propensity to wobble. Anyway, bad tire gone... new tire on, and I'm pleased to report that the wobble has been exorcized from my machine. No wobble, no weird sound. Just quality riding.

Like I said, I in no way wanted to flame a reputable tire company like Interco. I do think that one may have slipped the QC dept. That happens at times. The important thing to remember is that someone somewhere wanted to please me (the customer) and I'm satisfied that my problem was corrected in a timely manner.

They work great in the mud too!

Thumbs up Thumbs up!

Glad to hear you got the problem solved!
I'd really like to ride with someone who has the TrXus's to compare just how loud they are vs. my SSR's, and also to compare them directly against the BFG MT's (probably their closest direct competitor I'd guess...)

With all that siping I bet they'll be the best of the bunch in light snow and rain! The SSR's are siped but only in the center lugs...

Talking Thanks Goth!

Come on down Gothamist, your welcome at our campfire anytime bro...

My neighbor and I went for a ride, he has 33"MT's on his Toyota. He thinks that the Trxus tires are much quieter than his MT's. Don't know how they will wear compared to BFG's, I'm pretty good about rotating my tires every other oil change. I also have a lifetime alignment from firestone of all people. (the technician has a Pathy w/BFG MT's) I payed $99.00 and it's good for as many times as I need it for as long as I own the truck. I have the feeling I'll be using that as much as possible!!

I sure wish it would rain so I can have some muck to slop around in!

Just a FYI, Interco recommends only rotating your tires front to back.

I will be getting my SSR's fully siped when I buy them, the guy with the Pathy at the Nissanet run had his muds siped for $5 a tire...something others might want to look into as well if you want better rain/snow performance.

How did that guy's tires hold up? I'm actually glad my SSR's aren't fully siped just because I'm afraid if the outer lugs were siped they would chunk easier...definitely be interested to see how yours do once you get them, though...maybe next winter, if your have held up okay, I could look into siping mine as well.

Waitaminute, the way these things wear...next winter I could look into siping my next set.

The truck is not his daily driver anymore..just his trail truck and there was no chunking whatsoever. He was worried about that too when he bought them but Discount Tire did the siping for him and said as long as it is done right you will not have chunks of tire flying off.

I saw a Jeep at Mt. Rainier today with large TSL's. They were siped across all the chevrons.

Just a look, but the tires seemed like they would get great traction over the solid lugs I usually see.

So gothamist, you rode in mine, with the Trxus, what do you think they sound like?

You probably forgot that you were riding on them as they are so friggin quiet.

Gotta call tires international today about my side slice..
