what we need is some rich guy to donate a lot of land or street just for racing then no one will bust our chops since its private property.

My friend and I had that same idea. We were going to set up a drag strip and have it stay open all night. But as soon as we started to seriosly toss the idea around we found out that the inssurence on drag strips are expensive. But think, if people had an opertunity to go race legaly with no interuption from the law that would be great. oh well

we found this old agricultural airpoet with a small runway, not visible from the road so no cops, and as long as u avoid the huge potholes its great. 1/4 mile of it is smooth, its the slowdown area thats all roughed up.

Do you really need insurance? I mean, if you have people sign waivers and an make an announcement or a huge sign on the entrance that states they are not insured or no one will be liable, then i think you'd be covered.

I'm sure you can even get the support of cops or other city officials... just sell advertisement on the strip itself via huge billboards or something... that would be sweet. I don't think you need to spend a lot of money into it....
