Yes it's pretty pricey, but he does good work and he's the only one to successfully pull off a reliable turbo kit for the QR.

i dont know if they have kits for the newer years but you can e-amail them to find out. dont bother with all that bolt on bullshit if you really want more significant HP get the turbo kit with 8 psi boost which will be fine on stock internals. However I do recomentd changing to a race clutch before installing the kit. for $3600.00 you get the complete kit with everthing you need to install a turbo kit the right way. Think about it if you buy a decent header its gonna cost you around $800.00 for this car. The only other thing ud buy for it is a 3 in. cat back exhaust to compensate for the higher flow. Add up all the bolt on bull shit ita gonna cost you 3/4 the price of the turbo and you will get less than a 1/4 of the HP gain. its a big project but do it right the first time and you will be happy. I don't know how mechanically inclined u are but its reall not that hard to install it yourself. Honestly if u have access to a lift the clutch is a piece of cake in these cars. I've done clutches on civics before this one looks easier than that.
that kool bro whats a good turbo kit that i won't have to change the internals?I forgot the enegine model or cars has for a 03 spec ser...and could it pass the state inspection?

Re: More HORSEPOWER

Hey whats going on guys...interested in your discussion...trying to learn about cars... i have a 99 acura integra and i put a turbonator in it and it kinda sounds like one of those tornado things and i didnt notice a difference untill i put a k&n air filter on it. But it doesnt sound like yours is in the same place as mine. also where did you find the aem cold air intake...im looking for one but $230 is a little much for me i dont have much of an income. I also want about 20-30 more horsepower out of mine and im looking for cheap suggestions that will work... i have a 2 and 1/4 inch exhaust with a high performance air filter and the turbonator.

i dont even think you will get 265 whp outta the qr25,as far as the pullies go,yea i understand ur tryin to get all the power u can to the wheels but in my opinion i wouldnt do it.i kno people that had them and of course had a/c problems and the battery died.
go with a full exhaust 2.25 or 2.5 inch,then cams,flywheel,nitrous..

Re: More HORSEPOWER

You guys should checkout The V board. its a site just for spec v's.. they have dyno and 1/4 times posted from all the members and that should give you a good idea of what to expect.. The normal gain from all the bolt ons will get you 175-180whp. then theres forced induction.. with 175-180 whp it's possible to run anywhere from 14 flat to mid 14's, depending on driving skill.. I was actually reading a post last night and this kid has pretty much everything but cams and he ran 14.03 on street tires.. I'm sitting back right now deciding which parts to get and from my research i can tell you the following:

Headers:

Aebs-11.45whp
Hotshot-12whp
Nismo w/o cat- said to be 16whp, but no one has dyno proven it

DC sports-10whp

Best bet on the header is to go with the hotshot because its a well know, well engineered header and it gives top gains. aswell as costs almost half as much as the nismo header.

CAI:

aem- 3.2whp
hotshot-4whp
injen-7whp
Nismo-claims 8.7whp

As for the intakes, they are all made of the same 3" tubing and are no different so i;d just go with which ever you can get a better deal on.

Underdrive pulley:

UR-1 or 2whp

As far as a crank pulley goes its almost not worth it

Catback exhausts:

Your not gonna see any good gains on a catback. i guess the deal is that the stock catback it already pretty freeflowing.

Maganaflow- poor fitment and magna flow claims 7.6 whp. very doubtfull when it's the same exact setup as nismo and nismo only makes 4 whp

Nismo- very high quality and pricey around 4 whp
Greddy evo- a favorite with some ppl makes about 3 or 4whp

stromung-2.7whp and its heavy

Balance shaft removal kit: a pain in the ass to do but the v board has good instructions and even some videos on how to do it. gains are around 8whp

HP downpipe: 5whp on a stock spec v and 3 on a moded

Cams:

JWT- littley aggressive and give around 7 whp

Nismo- not as aggressive as the jwt

This is just some of the information i have found over the last couple months of researching myself hope it helps.

Tornado's restrict airflow, I'd rather not have one than put a free one in.

Good mods to start on:

CAI
Headers
Custom catback exhaust with racing cat, and low-restriction muffler
UR Pulleys
Hotwires
V-Force controller
Lightened flywheel
Custom downpipe
GT28R Turbo
Apexi boost controller
Tial BOV
TurboXS wastegate

Also for handling purposes:

Strut tower bar
Rear sway bar
Front sway bar
Energy suspension mounts
Big disc brakes

Remember, you don't have to wait for aftermarket companies, you can always go to custom performance shops and have them make you one-off pieces, but it will cost you.

Re: More HORSEPOWER

i keep hearing ppl say headers. theres only one "header" on our motors. it's an inline four, intake on one side exhaust on the other. Anyhow if you wanna go fast you gotta drive good as well as have a fast car. a fully bolted spec v with slicks will run 14.0 in most cases. best bet is to learn about forced induction, turbo's and superchargers, and get a turbo kit.. a lot of guys on the v-board are running good power from low boost.. In my opinion you could spend 500 bucks and make just as much wheel horsepower as a 4k turbo kit on 5psi. so it's up to what u wanna get yourself into.. But knowledge is everything, and for guys that think they have " headers", i'd do my homework first.

Yea and the tornado thing is bad , it restricts airflow, thus decreasing power.. You wanna feel some gains get the hotshot header it's good for 12-13 whp

Talking Thanks for the info

Whats yup guys haven't been here in like 4 months....I really haven't done anything to my car being that its under warrenty somewhat..lol.Anyway I"m not looking for any upgrades or turbos right now..too much $$$$ save it to go on trips to party. Thanks for the advice bro I think i will take the TORNADO out of my car when the weather gets lil warmer.I do get the sense that my car laggs a bit when i hit the gas froma stop sign...like some power is being held back...somewhat.Otherwsie everything is kool...got a new clutch runs beautiful..put a sliencer on my greddy exhaust to quite down my car.I'm getting lil tired of the the sound my muffler makes and draws too much attention at night on the weekends.Futhermore I think I"m gonna get this sick bodykit and these rims and put a PS2 in my car for the summer.By the way if I drop my car with EIBACH springs would i have to change the shock or get coilcovers...just want a nice smooth ride.Thanks.....later people
