i don't see how would the Tsi definitly win if it was stock vs stock. i think it would be a damn good race. since both of them run's high 14's with excellent drivers.

the talon has 220hp but weights 3000 lbs. the GTS makes 180hp but weights 2500 lbs.

the power delivery of the talon doesn't like to be reved past 6K, the power delivery of the GT-S doesn't come to life till after 5.5K hmmm

Nah, the GT-S will run high 14s with a top notch driver while the TSi will run mid to high 14s with a good driver.

Forced induction vs. N/A. the talon reaches the power band alot faster then the GTS. a stock GTS runs 14s stock??? When the heck did this happen? I've always seen them run 15s, .........I guess the key phrase is "good driver" huh?

Am I the only person to realise that this race was 9 months ago?

Stock for stock a GT-S wouldn't stand a change against your car. Nice that he wasn't a prick though. I hardly ever get a thumbs up after a race around here.

i wouldnt say a stock gt-s wouldnt stand a chance against his car, if people have gotten them down to 14.8 then it has a good chance. dont tsi run like low 15's high 14's?????? plus he's got the fwd tsi.

Re: Talon tsi -vs- Celica gts

one thing that is pretty impressive about the GT-S celicas is that those tiny 1.8L I4 motors make 180 horsepower. 100hp per liter is not bad at all.

No, what you heard about is probably people mis-shifting.. which is pretty common with the 6 speeds. The shift gates are very close together making it easy to downshift to the wrong gear if you aren't careful... causes bent valves and all that good stuff

I was able to get 14.7 @ 95mph bone stock in my car.. full interior, no spare. That's with 17" wheels and crappy Toyo FZ-4 tires too..
