Here is a peek at what is done so far. Everything except Priming/painting the body, tinting the windows, and hooking up the stereo system.

The rest of the pics are here, check em out.

Re: In Progress: Miguel's 1949 merc

Looks good. I have this kit as well, but it's pretty messed up (bought at garage sale for $2, but it was half glued together, and never painted). Anyway, I never read anything about a colour and additional body mods (but I sorta skimmed...) so I'm wondering what it's going to be... I haven't decided on a colour for mine yet, but I'm taking quite a different route with my car... wish I had a pic. Let's just say "Leadsled"

Re: In Progress: Miguel's 1949 merc

thanks dsm, not a whole lot of body mods planned other that running the tailpipes through the bumper. I just wanted a car that looked like jesse james's 54 chevy. It's gonna be flat black with a little flat grey mixed in to lighten it up slightly.

Just an update.........I promise it's not just a bump

*******UPDATE*******
Just a quick update on the merc. Got the body painted, the hood and trunk lid came out like crap. they were twice as flat black as the rest of the body, so into the dip they go. still need to paint/detail out the subs and amps then wire them up.
here's a pic....funny thing is that the orangepeel only shows in the pics. looks smooth up close. oh well.

the rest of the updates are at the bottom of this page.

have not had alot of time to work on this one b/c of my paying job and planning for my wedding.

Let me know what you think.

Re: In Progress: Miguel's 1949 merc

man, i almost forgot about this thing. Not really, it still sits in the same status as the last pic here. It's all packed up now, i'm moving into my new house this weekend. It is actually one of the first i'm gonna finish. It needs to be stripped and repainted, i'm gonna airbrush the flat black b/c the duplicolor didn't work like i wanted. not flat enough.

as soon as i'm finished i'll hit you up.
