that may be. but if it's not going to be considered for a win, then why insult them by nominating them and inviting them to attend? If you're going to say rap's not music, that's an opinion. and i can't totally disagree. RAP is an acronym for Rhythm And Poetry. it's not a typical musical style, but they should just be upfront about it.
i know the grammys aren't based on record sales or chart position but he has the #1 selling album at 6.5 million and is a whole one million album sales above the second highest seller, there has to be a reason why it did so well.

Re: The most emberassing moment of the Grammys...

50 is a good rapper but pretty much steel. It's all marketing. People are glorifying the "thug" life and some try to get some of it by buying 50 cent's cd. An example would be my sister, me and my bro uesd to listen to 50's old stuff before he sold out, and we liked wanksta also. Before 50 was really popular my sister was like "ewww, this song sucks, change it." Now that 50 cent is all popular amongst all the white crowds and featured in clubs everywhere, my sister claims to love him now. She's always like "ooohh, P.I.M.P. is on!!! DON'T CHANGE IT!!!" Or "In Da club!! KEep it!" even though it's played out like shit.

That shit annoys me, get your own fuckin taste kids. I made fun of my sister on how she just goes with whatever is popular, though she agrees. She said she just likes music when other people like it, which is gay.

I love hip hop, i listen to old school stuff mainly, wu-tang, a tribe called quest, nas (old and new), inspectah deck and raekwon the chef, but this new hip hop is a disgrace to the real hip hop community

Sold out?!? What the fuck. If you were a rapper that not many people knew, and eminem and Dre came up to you with a contract, you'd sign it too. It's not like he left his fans or turned his back or anything. I don't see how a rapper signing a contract to sell more records is considered 'selling out'.

Same with Paul Walker. If anyone of you were paid the same amount of money he was paid for 'The Slow & The Curious', you'd be a dumb ricer too. Not a single person here would turn down 3 million dollars so they don't look like a ricer in front of America.

Re: The most emberassing moment of the Grammys...

It's hard to pick the most embarrassing moment. It's bad enough that it's televised at all.All those sad little fuckers looking at each other for a spot of recognition of their self-worth.It's only a job, after all.We don't get awards shoews for plumbers,or mechanics,or garbagemen,so why musicians?

Well.......thanks,Dave,but this award doesn't belong to me....it belongs to all those discerning folk who've ever stopped by at the deli on the way home for some fresh Brie,or Emmentaler,or Mozzarella..... I'd like to thank the cows without whom none of this would have been possible...My mum,my producer,Nissan Forklift,God,the All Blacks,Solid Gold FM....[etc]

Exactly. Who cares if you got shot 9 times(maybe it should've been 10)? Who cares if you think you have the best selling album(believe me; more people sell 10 times better than he ever will). I still listen to rap, but most of them are just saying the same over and over with a different beat. I'm glad I started listening to rock. Open your ears and you might learn something.

Re: The most emberassing moment of the Grammys...

his beats turned to pop, simple as that. He sold out, now he's singing about love (24) and gay shit, he used to be hard and gangsta. Now he's tryin to keep up his thug image while cryin and rapping like a bitch.

If you hav'nt noticed, every rapper has at least 1 love song on thier album. What do you mean by 'sold out'. He's not rapping for a hobby, he's rapping for money, so I don't think you can say he 'sold out'. He's not gonna turn down 16 million dollars so he won't be labeled a 'sellout'. He has 16 million dollars, and unless you baught his record, he does'nt give a fuck about you.
