Anyone else think it's weird that the Avalon didn't have ABS?

It looked to me as if they were sliding on a bridge.
Remember, a bridge will freeze before the rest of the road does.

I hate to say it but I would rather drive on full - on snow covered road than that glare ice.

Thats why texas will close everything down when it flurries. Around here we get that kind of weather constantly so theres very few accidents even on ice except for idiots who think their 4x4's can handle ice.

For some strang reason, my 1992 Blazer gets better braking on slick surfaces when in 4wd, but my truck has issues with ABS retardation. The ABS doesn't work at all, but the wheels never lock up 4x4 and I know when my ABS is working.....I'm not crazy, I just have a weird truck!

I am embarassed to say that that happened in my home state in a town a little ways down Interstate-40. All the snow had melted and this was like that last icy bridge left. It was in Franklin, TN. We really don't get a lot of snow or ice, but when we do, the stupid redneck part of us takes over.

However, that was hilarious. Poor Beemers.

Re: Icy overpass = tons of wrecks (video)

Wow, that's scary. Personally, driving on ice wouldn't be too scary if it weren't for the other people on the road. But if you ask me it looks like people are driving really fast for the conditions. Hopefully most drivers have enough sense to know that bridge conditions can be a lot worse than the preceding road conditions.

fun on ice

going back and looking at it again(and judging by certain dot worker's lack of urgency) it appears to be tennessee, the plates look like tenn. plates. i think texas plates have red on it(in the tx flag)? but i would agree with the person that said tenn(the south in general)doesn't get that much snow and ice and when we do, we don't really know how to drive in it...

Hey dumbasses, it's called DEPTH PERCEPTION! Try to notice the cars in front of you aren't moving...but then I wouldn't have a good laugh in the morning...HA, that sheet metal on the Beemer got torn like run in panty hose The DOT dude is a dumbass and should be fired, he's responsible for at least 2 of the accidents. this really makes me want to put my trust in a government department.

Those plates look a lot like virginia plates. Every winter I see so many wrecks because of the tiniest bit of ice. I'v only been driving for a year and I drive better in that kind of weather than people who have lived here (north carolina) their whole lives. I always see people going the normal speed limit in that kind of weather too.
